beautiful_stranger Posted January 17, 2009 Posted January 17, 2009 So I've been dating this guy (who's a guy friend i've had a crush on for sometime). He's had a massive crush on another chick who rejected him last year. Previously he put nicknames like "he is in love"/"it takes courage to let go" etc as his on IM, I think his feelings for her was very strong. He is aware that I am aware of this and I have never mentioned my jealousy or concern over this girl to him. I also know that they keep contact. The thing is we were having a conversation on names... he said something like "my favourite name for girls is [her name]"... so i felt compelled to ask him what is going on between them... and he's reply is "we are very close friends".. so i proceeded to ask if he still liked her.. he said "i like many girls, but you are the best"... to this i dunno whether to regard it as him wanting to cover up the fact that he still has feelings for her. He can be playful at times.. but my worry does not disappear and cannot help but feel somewhat wronged for him dating me and possibly be in love with another girl... I know if i asked him, i will never get a proper answer. So my dilemma is this, if he openly tells me he is in love her or even both of us I will let go without a doubt. But he will not tell me that, as he cant be with her. So my question is, if there is a way and if so how do you find out if someone is still in love with an old crush? And is there any reason to justify me continue dating this guy... things arent that serious yet.. so guess i can still back out..
