forte Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 So last night.. (7 days NC broken up for 2.5 weeks) I was feeling good, lol.. so I said wtf and emailed my ex saying... that I loved her and will always leave the door open in case she changes her mind and that she was more than a love, she was me best friend. good night. So this morning.. sheer and utter..oh my f'n gawd sets in.. b/c I really don't feel that way. So this is where it gets good.. I email her AGAIN this morning - LOL - saying that I was a bit intoxicated when I sent that email last night. I said that in all honesty, I have too much self-respect to try again with the relationship and said I was already dating someone (lie) and you and I both know it would never have worked out. But.. I feel much better now than I did if I let her believe I was leaving the door open. <note to self> stay off the xanax and stella, lol.
sweetbrokensoul Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Really, xanax made you feel that way? Or was it something else?
carhill Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Xanax numbs the pain, if you take enough of them OP, lose her e-mail address. Best way to combat weakness.
Author forte Posted January 12, 2009 Author Posted January 12, 2009 Really, xanax made you feel that way? Or was it something else? xanax makes you not care (numbs the pain) by slowing down the brain when it's in overdrive. But you have to be verrrrrry careful b/c it's addicting. I take the .25's (very low dose) and then I even cut those in half. But I'm a pill taker. I'm a firm believer that if there's medicine out there that helps with what I'm feeling.... yes, please. thanks. About the email.. I wish I could. It's a very easy email address that I have committed to memory. It's basically her name.. argh.
carhill Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Then try Effexor. It's great at erasing memory Seriously, you have to cognitively stop yourself. Think of each day as a new day and, just for that day, you will actively suppress any thoughts of her. We have support here for that. See my signature. You can break the mental addiction. Once done, your perspective will change

sedgwick Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Effexor is the most evil medication I've ever taken! It's, like, WAAAYYY beyond your typical SSRI antidepressant. I had been taking Lexapro and felt that it wasn't helping enough, so my shrink put me on Effexor and whoa. WORST. SIDE. EFFECTS. EVER. (Though I guess for some of us it might be good to have zero interest in sex for a while.) And if you stop taking it, god help you. You have to taper sloooooooooooooooowly off of it, and I still had withdrawal symptoms. My head buzzed, I was constantly dizzy, I was nauseous and couldn't eat -- good times. I think I'd have electroshock before I'd take Effexor again. I wouldn't recommend that stuff to anyone.
carhill Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Yep, agree. That's why I made a joke about it. It wasn't a joke when my wife lost her short-term memory for a year.

I also took ur advice seriously carhill and weaned mysef off of it, didnt like it and even tho i only took it short term, I had major mood swings....feel better now. I also take .5mg of xanax at night to help me sleep, I never get like that, where it numbs me, dont know, differernt for everyone.
carhill Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 Everyone's brain chemistry is different The important thing is do try different things and do what works best for you. Hopefully the OP will find a balance which works for him.
The Collector Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 I know what you mean. I mixed too many Zolpidem (Ambien in the States) with alcohol and thought I was Batman. A friend of mine had her drink spiked with Rohypnol so I went and 'interviewed' some local punk kids on the street, as if they'd have known anything about it.
Knight_Ctrl Posted January 12, 2009 Posted January 12, 2009 oh pills....so good, yet so bad. I was addicted to vicodin for a while that I had gotten from the hospital after breaking my ankle. Then a week or so later my sister had gotten surgery on something and she got oxycotton......which I helped myself to....just stay away guys.
