Would any of you guys be offended if your gf proposed to you? Any girls out there who proposed to your bf?

If any of you are married or engaged how were you proposed to?

I would consider proposing to my BF if I didn't know for sure that this is something he wants to do. He says that's the tradition, but personally, I don't care who pops the question. My mom asked my dad.

Yes it's about time for girls to speak up too. Sick of the waiting for guy to do the job, what he isn't sure what she's thinking or possibly too shy to ask it.

I am totally fine with the idea of a woman proposing but there are so many cultural obstacles to the idea. The proposing woman has overcome these, but it is important to know if the man in question can also. So I would say it depends on your intended, and how you think he would take it.

I think it is lovely and romantic and liberated for either party to propose. Practically, I suppose a rational discussion and a joint decision would be another good way to go.

Full disclosure: I told my BF of 4 years we needed to set a date, and we did set one in the same conversation. Does that count as a "proposal"? If I had to do it over again, I would say, by X date, we need to have a formal engagement. Then sit back and give him X time to get his @#$# together and propose. Because I took the lead, now I interpret any reluctance on his part as rejecting marriage with me, and it's driving me insane. Spare yourself this agony! :) Be sure of the answer and best of luck!

I would never propose to a man. That is incredibly desperate in my eyes. That's just me, though.

My fiance and I discussed marriage and timelines for our relationship to go to the next level. About two months after I moved in, he woke me up on New Years Eve by tickling my nose with a pink rose. He bought a bouquet for me.

We had dinner that night at a favorite steakhouse. Very romantic.

We went near the lake of the city that we live in. We had champagne in the car. He drove us home and put on music. He lit candles, had me sit on the couch, got down on one knee and said this:

" I have only thought of myself for years. Then I met this beautiful black girl. At first I wasn't sure if it was serious because I didn't know where it was going. Then I realize it was serious. I've never loved any woman as much as you. We seemed to have the vows down already; for better or for worse because we always seem to work out our problems. For richer or for poorer because you don't seem to care that I don't have a lot of money just now. (The company he worked for went bankrupt.) So, *BlackLovely's full name*, take this ring and say that you'll be my wife."
