So has anyone tried DivorceCare? My parents are suggesting I go. I'm not a real religious person. Is this tied into religion? I notice they are pretty much all held at churches. If anyone has gone I'd like to hear their experiences...

Yes I have gone & I'm planning on taking it again next month (there are at least three others taking it again with me). Yes it is religious based but it also has some other good stuff in there. It is based on what the bible says about divorce & how to grieve but like I said it talks about the anger, the different steps off emotions, etc......

Something else they don't tell you is the friends you make (or at least our class did) after the 13 weeks. We had around 20 people in our class & there is 10 or 11 of us that still keep in contact & hang out once in a while together.

All of us didn't go to the same church & for me I didn't go to the church that put it on, but I am going now.

I thought it was worth it & you won't learn everything going only one time. The couple that put it on have been doing it for 10 years & he said he still sees things he missed, or he will learn something new....

Thought of something else, you can also go to the web site & sign up for their daily email & they are very helpful.

It is kind of the same stuff you hear in the class.

For us we watched a video then had a snack & then talked about the video. I have heard some places break up into smaller groups but I liked how we stayed in a bigger group so you were able to get more feed back & hear more stories from others......

I am planning on taking it again next month when it starts.

Good luck, nothing about a divorce is easy!!!!

To PWSX3: I am Catholic, do they accept anybody coming from a different religion? Thanks.
