I noticed a similar thread but with reversed roles so I thought I'd post this one...

What are your thoughts?

Sometimes if I know I'm not interested I opt to pay well at least for myself or if he has treated me before I can pay for him too.

If she pays, I'd feel a little akward :o

I guess I'm more of a traditional guy in that sense. I'll offer to pay no matter if I'm interested in the girl or not, its just my duty as a man.

In the event I'm sitting across with an ultra independent woman whom makes alot of money, I'll only offer to split it.

If a woman absolutely insists on treating me, sure I'll accept.

I went out for lunch with a co-worker today. It was our first lunch together and she insisted on picking the tab.

I felt bad as I'm not used to being treated and also because I have a more senior role in the company.

But hey, I'm not going to turn down a free lunch!

Yes. If he's a friend, family, business contact or acquaintance, I've paid lunch many a time. There's no gender disparity.

I've never done a first "lunch" date before. I guess if it's a first date situation and I'm not interested, I would pay the entire shot, same as if it were dinner or any other activity.

I agree there should be no gender disparity and that's the way I feel about things as well.

And while I am excluding friends and family from the picture, I've paid way more often than I was treated when it comes to women...

If it's a business scenario, what tends to happen is that management pays 150% of the time! That's what expense accounts are for!

If a woman in management is getting you to pay and you're not in management, you've been had.

Women definitely expect it. It's a given that the guy pays, which makes your situation very strange indeed. Perhaps she invited you out to help her with an issue, and the lunch was payment for services rendered.

I can tell you that as a gay man, it is a delight to be constantly fighting over who picks up the check!

Parts of me have good style. I suppose the rest could use some polishing :)

It's actually the other way around -- I'm in management and she's not... :)

 Then she's been had! There's no gender disparity here.

Relax and enjoy it then. She's not taking gender advantage of you.

I dont see what the problem in that is. at the very least women offer to pay for lunch with me 60% of the time. if its a date-type thing i prefer to pay, but if the woman insists im not gonna fight it. tbh its usually a turn off when a girl expects me to pay, especially in the beginning. with friends we usually split it, or i get once they get it once. as far as business, traditionally whoever has the better position or seniority is expected to pay, but it shows some initiative for the other person to pay or atleast offer to pay.
