I'm 18 years the otherside of divorce, and when it comes right down to it, the difference between married and divorce comes down to "paper"

When I was married, and I shacked up that little gal in NC, we had three kinds of paper, (aside from the printing kind)

We had ourselves, paper towels, we had toliet tissue, and we had Klennix.

We had a Klennix box of paper in everyroom. The bedroom, the living room, the bathroom, the kitchen, the den.

But now that I'm all past that, single and alone? I noticed that I've only got two types of paper?

Paper towels and toliet tissue?

You run out of one? You susbstitute the other! :p

A little Lewis Gizzard humor ~ God rest his soul!

My point being is that sometimes you've got to laugh to keep from crying! And humor is a great way of doing that.

The late, great Sam Kinson use to crack me up when he said, "You know those hostages that were held on the Beruit tarmac for 52 days? They got off light!

I was MARRIED for TWO FREAKING YEARS! ARRRG! ARRRRGGGGGGG! ARRRRGGGGGGG!

I know what your guys are going through, I really do! But try to induce some humor and laughter into your life ~ even if its about your current situation. Its the end of your marriage ~ not the end of your life!

Get out there and rub a little sunshine on your face, live Life large! And be it the end of your marriage, or you've just been told you've got a life ending illness, just got laid off, finding yourself going to prison? Its not the end of your Life, its the end of what was once your Life.

Bottom line, either get busy living or get busy dying! Life is all about perspective and attitude. Its all about how you see it!

The truth of the matter is? Most people are about as happy as they make thier minds up to be!

When it all comes down to it? There's but two things to worry about?

Wheather your healthy or sick. If your azz is healthy? You've got nothing to worry about! But if your sick?

You still only have two things to worry about? Weather your happy azz is going to live or die?

If you live? You've got nothing to worry about?

But, if you die? You've still only two things to worry about, wheather your happy azz is going to go to Heaven or Hell?

If you go to Heaven? You've nothing to worry about, and if you go to Hell?

You're going to be SO busy saying "Hello" to all of your friends it won't even matter!

Lighten up where you can, and tighen up where you need to.

Yup Gunny... it was posts like this... that helped me keep on the straight and narrow... through my early and dark days...

Gave me a glimmer of a hope... that there was a sparkel of light down that deep dark... and very long tunnel.

Now... being on the other side... I can appreciate your words even more.... because ... I did get through it... doing my best to stay positive... making myself believe... that the sun would come out tomorrow...:)

and guess what....?? It did :D

This is not the end... There is life ... after that life. Its up to you... to make it so.

Now go get busy living... ;)

The sun does rise over and over again. Each time it rises, it's like you've stepped up a level. Pretty soon, you're at the top of the steps, looking out at all the beauty you haven't noticed for a long time! It stretches out forever, where nothing and no one can stop you or drag you down again!

Screw the drama, the unhappiness and the misery! :bunny:

That's a beautiful analogy ~

I've literally been there, where I've put one foot upon a footstep of stairs and looked back upon a CO sunrise ~.............and was amazed at the beauty of it all,..............and was simply in awe of God's creativeness!

But your going to have to get rid of that viscious beast in you avatar! LOL

Great post, Gunny. It is stuff like this that gets us through. Thanks a lot.

You have such a way with words, Gunny. If I could buy your attitude in a bottle, I'd order a couple of cases. There's no substitute for a lifetime of experience, what an education you've had along the way! Thanks for sharing the benefits what you've learned.

Thanks Gunny. Your opening post got me thinking about how to put the feeling, into words. :)

Move on and keep moving on! Never, ever let someone who doesn't have your best interests in mind, impact on who you are, where you are now and where you want to go! :)

Haha...talk about a kitten with attitude!
