i am a little more than 24 hours after a breakup and i now i know the whole "relationship" was an illusion.

I watched the video and it's actually quite good. Tolle speaks very slowly but what he says is intense and logical. He gives clarity to the very complicated subject of romantic love. Thanks for the recommendation.

Just watched it as well. I like the way he explains things.

I've always wondered if long relationships eventually are just based on "putting up" with situations rather than actually doing something about them because logically how can someone be happy with just one person for the rest of their lives? If you put it like that, it don't seem possible - but of course there are relationships that are genuinely strong and loving in which the two people are in sync with each other and because they do follow that "contract" and maybe adding more to it along the way to keep it interesting. There are so many reasons why people choose to keep relationships going, security, children or whatever else. In saying all this, I do think most people do put a lot of effort initially but I think slowly a false sense of security sets in because they think all the "hard work" has been done and nothing can harm it. Like it's already been said in the video, it's a "contract" between two people which has a set of guildlines which must be followed in order to keep the contract, just like a boss would fire you if you didn't do your job properly, same logic but just different circumstances.

I hope to look up more on this guy he really seems fantastic to listen to.

Thanks for sharing.

Good video anyway, it pretty accurately describes what happens in relationships. Love turns into hate so easily. Proof that people enter relationships out of selfish reasons (solely to make themselves happy) rather than to mutually share something wonderful. No wonder the divorce rate is 50%.
