Scarlett24 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Hey everyone, I'm new to this site and looking for a little insight. I met this guy last week at a party. We hit it off, had some good conversation, and spent a lot of time making out but nothing more than that although I did sleep in his bed, mostly just because I needed a place to crash after drinking. Next morning he asks for my number and I get a text from him later that day. He continues to text me for the next few days, twice asking me to come hang out in a group setting with him and his friends. I declined both times since I already had plans. Sunday I respond to one of his texts telling him he could actually call me sometime if he was so inclined, kind of making a joke out of it. A few hours go by and he does call. We have a nice conversation, but he doesn't ask me out. I get another text from him this morning (sorry that was long). My question is this: what does all this texting mean? Does he only want to be buddies or is he actually interested? If he is interested then why isn't he asking me out? Texting certainly makes things confusing in the dating arena, doesn't it?
norajane Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 He did ask you out, twice, in a group setting. You turned him down because you were busy. It's your turn to suggest going out to something specific. You also could have suggested that he join you in whatever you were doing that made you busy - asked him to join you and your friends. In his mind, you've shot him down twice without offering an alternative date. He may not ask again.
