I have been seperated from my wife of 9 years for 3 months now. It has been the worst time for me. She told me that she wanted a seperation when i still had 2 months left in my last deployment. I just returned in Oct and had to move out of house right away. Everything seemed to be just fine when i left and when i was calling her while gone, then one day she said she was leaving. but i was the one that had to leave and give up everything. Because of my work schedule we have decided to give her custody and the house. I want to work it out and she acts like i have some sort of terrible disease. I don't know what to do anymore. i have been giving her everything since the split and she doesn't even want to talk to me about the split or anything. She says the only good thing she got out of the last 9 years is our 4 children. I'm at wits end and not sure what else to do. Need to figure out how to restart life again.

AD or reserve? If reserve, how much longer activated? If reserve, what is your "civie" job.

MOS, Rank, TIG, TIS? If AD, how many years in, how many until retirement if that is the goal. If not when is EOS date?

If you go to get couseling keep your mouth shut and go off base. Go PT 5X's per week as your suppose to, it really helps A LOT!

I got played the same way during Gulf War One, and everything was fine. Didn't have a freaking clue, until I got back stateside, and got my azz handed to me in the form of "D" papers. Bitoch was going to leave me, a freaking Gunny for a Lance Coolie!

Of course she was just "duty station puddin" while he was marking time to get his MedDis issuing out horse blankets down at battalion supply.

Talk to me Bro, being doing this late 88! Tell me with what your comfortable with. If your in CLNC, you've got time on your hand because via state law you've got to be seperated for a year before filing.

Move your happy azz into the barracks, eat in the chowhall. Hey, say what you will its three hots and a cot, which is better than what a lot of these guys are looking at. I'm here to tell you, its a mean cold cruel world out here. If you in, stay in. And leave the women alone, stay out of the bars, and whatever you do don't go and get yourself into a relationship.

I wished many a time to Almighty God I had done what my friend "Cotton" had done. "Cotton" wasn't your typical grunt, he wasn't a snake eater. He was supply.

He was stationed at MCLSB (Marine Corps Logistical Supply Base) and married a little old Georgia Girl once be made buck sergeant (E-5) and they got a rental trailier outside of Albany, GA.

He came home one day, and all his stuff was gone, except his uniforms and personal effects, (she even took his stereo he'd bought at the PX in Okinawa )

"Cotton" told himself "Bet"!

He moved into the barracks and there he stayed for the next 24 years, living in the barracks, eating in the chowhall going to the gym pumping iron everyday.

Oh he had girlfriends, lots of them here there and everywhere. Coast to coast! He just never moved in with any of them, nor married any of them.

Anytime I would run up on "Cotton" be it Camp Pendleton CA, or Camp Lejuene NC we'd get together. Anytime he'd be over for a BBQ and others were bringing out pictures of their babies, "Cotton" would show pictures of his "Babies" ~ 10 Harley Davidson's he owned that he mostly kept in storage facilites he rented here and there along with one sweet 1969 Pontiac GTO "Tha Judge" convertable.

"Cotton" did 26 years in the Corps retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant, bringing in a check each month for around 2000 +. He went on back down to Albany GA, and got a civil service job doing the same damn thing he was doing in the Corps, except he's making about 30 grand more doing it along with his retirement from the Corps.

He went out and bought himself about fifteen acres of land outside of Albany, ~ paid cash he'd saved from all those years he'd lid in the barracks and ate in three meals a day in the chowhall for less than $10 a day.

Built himself about a 2200 sq ft house and furnished it with all new appliances and furniture. Built a barn, and sealed it off air tight down the middle. On one side he's got himself some horses, and on the otherside there sit those ten Harleys that he so dearly loves! Along with that sweet ride of a true Pontiac GTO convertiable. (and some four wheelers and a couple SkiDo's, a bass and ski boat)

He went and found himself a little gal GA gal about ten years younger than he. He told me he took her down by the mailbox, last time I talked to him and asked her to marry him. He was forty eight at the time.

He told her! Understand something, everything you see before is mine! And should you and I go our seperate ways? It will still be mine because by GA law, everything you and I owned before we get married belongs to the ones that owned it before we got married. Now mine your entitled to half of everything we acquire after we're married, but everything I own before we were married is mine! That's the law in Ga.

She told him she would marry him, but he told he, "Now hold up! Wait a minute! There's more!"

He took her up to the house and around back, and there were two Rottweillier pups!

He told her, I'm going to raise these dogs up and train them to where if they see "U-Haul" orange on the place to kill everyone around!"

I told "Cotton" ~ "Cotton! Dogs are color blind!"

Cotton told me! "Hell she don't know that!"

LOL! Yea that was me! I just wanted to be happy again, I just wanted to be "normal" (whatever the Hell that is or ever was) And I still want it, but having gone through ~ been through what I've been through? I don't know for sure and certain that's possible?

Once you've danced with the Devil? You don't change him! He changes YOU!

Because of the Corps, divorce, etc I so far the otherside of normal its a miracle that I still considered sane! Just re-read your orginal post. Whatever you do don't get out now. With a pissed off X and four kids the worse thing you could do would be to quit the Corps now!

I still don't know nor understand it but there's a prejudice againt veterans out her in civilian la~la land. I take that back, I do understand it, Its because most businesses are family ownedm and they employ their slacker friends and relatives first. The nepotism out here is un-freaking real. Its not what you know, but who you know! Or married to, or married into.

Take an old Gunny's advice? If your in the Corps ~ stay in the Corps!
