lilmrcheerful Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 What do you think is the best way to ask someone to marry them is? I used to think the best way was the traditional romantic way whereby you just take her on a trip somewhere, normally someone special for both of you with good memories or someone romantic like Italy / France, propose to them there, however, is this such a good idea anymore? You need to know if that person is ready and sometimes that's hard to know what they are thinking, dropping little hints sometimes helps but this also can give it away too much. Oh, not that I am thinking about doing that, certainly don't think that would be wise in the problems I am facing but really just curious to see what others think about how to pop "that" question! Thanks for reading.
LucreziaBorgia Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 What do you think is the best way to ask someone to marry them is? In the way they've always dreamed of being asked. Takes a little digging to find that out, though.
Lauriebell82 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 About 4 months ago my boyfriend and I were at a restaurant and he asked me about proposals. He started off by telling me about this utube video he saw about a girl being proposed to at a basketball game and shes was so embarrassed and scared that she said no! So he followed that up by asking me if being proposed to in a crowd of people would be scary. I said yes. He then asked me if I'd like to be proposed to in front of family. I told him that it should be a private moment between the couple, and then they can go tell everyone! Get some info, but do it in a non-chalant kind of way. Personally I don't need some fancy vacation (although that would be wonderful) but just my boyfriend to take me out to a nice dinner and then when we got home he proposed right then and there.
JamesM Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 In the way they've always dreamed of being asked. Takes a little digging to find that out, though. Succinctly said and to the point. LB mentioned the girl being asked at the basketball game. Some women might like the publicity. Personally, I think the majority of those are set ups. Both knew it was coming. Most women just want to be asked. The way is not as important as from whom. How YOU do it will be the memory that they cherish. So you ask her while she is sitting on the toilet....okay that might be a little too far, but still, it will be a story she cherishes. Be original. Be you. And do what she likes. If you are not an expert on her yet, then do your homework. Marriage is a lifetime of learning. Your goal is to get a PhD in the study of your woman.
EAJuggalo Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 My fiancee has dreamed about getting married on the lake in her little bitty hometown. We went there for Thanksgiving this year and the day after I made here show me where she was talking about. I asked her again if it was where she wanted to be married, she said yes so I got down on one knee and asked her right there.
