hotdancer2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Age is mind over matter. If you don't mind, it doesn't matter. My boyfriend is 10 years older than me. The biggest issue, aside from making sure that you are ready for the same kind of relationship, is the social aspect. It can be awkward once you start introducing friends and family into the picture. You'll get a lot of not-so-nice looks when you tell people about the age difference. I told this woman yesterday about it and she stopped talking to me, like I was a nut case or something! It just makes life easier if you are within, say 6 years of age or so.

Balthazar Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 I dated a 36 year old lady when I was 25, and it didn't really go that well, but I don't think it was due to our age. We just didn't connect as people. I think you should enjoy your relationship with the guy and just take things one day at a time. Currently, I(38) am in a relationship with a young woman who will be 22 in late January. I have asked how she feels about bring around older people, and she answered that she has always preferred more mature to younger. To each his own I guess.... Happy New Year's to all on LS! CHeers,
alone2night Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 Not sure if this counts but when I was 18 my girlfriend at the time was 25, but she shared me with her mother for pure sex and nothing more (the mother was 55 at the time) As a man in my late teens early to mid 20's preferred a woman be older then abut 25 to 35 i preferred same age now I seem to desire the 20 to 25 year olds.
rluv Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 As I prefer older men, I may be biased. BUT, age is not the issue at all. It depends on what you want in a relationship. If you want something carefree, just because he is older, doesn't mean he's necessarily mature/responsible. So if he wants something carefree/fun, and you do too, well... But if you want someone mature in their character, responsible, they can have fun too. Age is just a collection of years - you just have to look deeper at the person and get to know them. Good luck!!

Makes me see a bit of normalcy in my current situation. Awesome! He and I have gon out dancing a couple times since and as I'm still on the fence about how i feel I post-poned any more kissing
Frankasy Posted January 5, 2009 Posted January 5, 2009 Besides a girl that I had who has one year younger than me when I was much younger for a week and another foreign one again one year younger than me but only a one night stand, all the other women I've dated or gone after have been younger than me. They've been mostly 2 years older than me. Older women are gr8!
