Since I've joined the gym since my breakup, it has been wonderful therapy along with this message board. I recommend others do it too. I just got back and I feel really good. If I can just keep it that way.

I was thinking of this, i would rather box take my anger out on a punching bag though.

Yeah, I've not been since the breakup, although I did go climbing, which although did take my mind off things, reminded me how quickly you lose shape for climbing if you don't go at least every other day!

sure does, i got membership to a gym a couple of days after i got dumped and i gotta say that it raises your self esteem up a bit. I actually look forward to going to the gym every day, its sad but i feel like its the only time that im not hurting so i tend to stay there for 2 hrs.

Same with me. It's kind of a weird thing with me. I have to go late at night for some reason.

Wait till you start going in the morning, go home, then go back in the evening. That's when I knew I needed another hobby...

Working out in any way, especially daily, creates its own high! Not only do you feel better, you look good too! :bunny:

I love to work out, knowing appreciating your own body growing firm each day, nice feeling

way to go guys !

Good to hear guys. Abs are hot :p I've been thinking about getting a membership at the school gym now that it's starting on Monday. Besides I was doing really well during the summer but have since gained some winter fat that needs burning! haha

I worked out regularly, and the one thing that kept me doing it was the knowledge that my g/f would like the results. She did.

Then she left me for a fat, sweaty metaller.

I've struggled to get the motivation to go since...

Any suggestions?

Just feels so far away... Was working up to these three weeks, so I had a time goal. Maybe I should enter a marathon...

Riffmeister, don't work out to please anyone else. Work out because it feels good!

BUT I HATE IT! Well, I do like the results, but after 5 years, I've got really fed up of it. At least I had something to get me through that last set or that last mile. I'll think of something.

Then do something else. I hate the gym so I work out at home daily with yoga/pilates and every second day, stairs.

Maybe running will be your thing, as you mentioned previously.

Yeah, I used to go running, but then the snow fell. I might take up cross country skiiing... ooooh! Nice idea! Thanks! :)

Not my idea but that's great that you found something to do in the winter, that you enjoy! Now get busy getting back to feeling good and staying cut! :bunny:

I agree man, I was working out every single day for like an hour and a half. Lost somewhere around 20 lbs, felt great. **** was so cash. Then I broke my ankle gained all that weight back, and have been feeling like piss all of the time.

In short, keep crunching.:bunny:

walking is great!

i started after my gym membership ran out (was there in mornin before work & again after work, know exactly where youre comin from it seemed like the only place i could get some 'mental' peace)

but now i love the walking more, we've got a great track in our town so i pop in my earphones and go round and round!! thats what i like, cos everyones goin in the same direction i dont have to meet & make small talk with anyone!

plus the fresh air feels amazing!

Totally. I do this in the non-winter/non-wet season months. If you do 5 - 7 kilometers per session, it really gets you going.

A friend of mine and I were doing this daily, for a number of months before the weather turned really bad. She's a dedicated power walker so I was almost jogging, to keep up with her. It must have been funny to watch!
