Alvy Singer Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Hi all, I've only posted a few times here, and not for about two months now. When I initially came to the forum in August my wife had just told me she was no longer in love with me (no affair, no other man, just a love that didn't last unfortunately). Perhaps unsurprisingly, we have since separated and I've been working through the various emotions that go with that over the last two months. Anyway, I just want to thank everyone for all their advice and opinions during those times of uncertainty. I also want to announce that I'll be seeing in 2009 by removing my wedding ring at midnight (I've previously been unable to bring myself to take this step). A new year and a new start. Here's hoping! Alvy

Alvy Alvy, I don't know your situation, but you sound a lot like me. I was in denial that my stbxw was having an affair, but again, I don't know your details. I had the hardest time taking the ring off too, almost 2 months for me as well. I think I was just afraid of it really being over and somehow that ring really signified a big part of it. It'll get normal to be without that ring again, trust me, just take it off and put it out of sight. Be well.
PWSX3 Posted January 1, 2009 Posted January 1, 2009 Alvy, I hope everything went as you wanted it to go.......... Wishing you & everyone else a better 2009..... We all need to use next year for person growth......

sinkerswim Posted January 4, 2009 Posted January 4, 2009 It is a HARD thing to do..I have been there with an engagement ring before (that took 7 months to take off)..and now another ring from another man (that I am currently going through).. But it can be done eventually. GOOD LUCK and I hope and pray that 2009 is a better year for ALL OF US BROKENHEARTED SOULS.
