Have been in NC for 6 weeks now. Is it ok to to text Merry christmas, or happy birthday's to other person? or does NC means NC under no circumstances?

No contact means absolutely no contact. The other person is toxic. It is an addiction. Would you tell an alcholic that it is O.K. to drink just one class of vodka on New Years Eve? No contact means no contact. What part of No or Contact do you not understand? Doin gthe right thing means no contact whatsoever.

The problem is that any contact will encourage more contact and send the wrong message. If You were the one to declare NC The other person will see that You are not committed to it. The more you break NC even for innocent seeming reasons, the more the other person will think it's OK for them to contact You. You have to stick to NC on your side 100% or they will realize that if it means nothing to You, then why should they abide by Your NC request either. Right?

While it would be nice to wish Merry Christmas, the problem is the natural response would be to text back and then where do you end it? The other thing is breaking NC sends the message "I am thinking about You" Which may encourage interaction.

No, it is NOT okay to text a Merry Xmas or Happy New Year or Happy Birthday message to the OP. THAT is breaking NC. NC is NC is NC. So, that's a big fat no..

What is the point of breaking it? Why do you feel the need to send a text?

Its' hard to make NC especially Christmas and Birthdays etc. etc. The thing is to think of the pain you were in at the break up - if you make contact you will go right back to square one. The pain will start all over again. If its been six weeks now it will start to hurt less the longer you leave it.

Hope you are OK
