Star Gazer Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 ...on Match and I told her. I'm nervous. I hate being the messenger.
johan Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 You lured him into it by using a photo of a beautiful model and a profile that made you sound like the perfect woman. Entrapment. Now you just need to ask him for money in order to make everything right. Protection money. Aren't you clever.
Nemo Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Friends love to share. Go ahead and take a ride on his pleasure bone.
johan Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 He was probably just kidding around, because he recognized you. It was meant to be a harmless joke. Now you're going to ruin his life. Nice.
JamesM Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 He was probably just kidding around, because he recognized you. It was meant to be a harmless joke. Now you're going to ruin his life. Nice. There may be truth to this. He may have done it to get a rise out of YOU as opposed to getting a rise for himself. But even still, don't you think it would be better to let HIM know how you feel before letting her know? Or are you afraid that you are part of a pattern of winks for him?

I'm really not sure he knows I'm her friend. I know it's him because her MS is covered with his pictures (a couple of which are his Match pictures), but she only has one or two of me that are far away group shots. But I did consider telling him first... Hence why I'm nervous.
Trialbyfire Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 Maybe I'm naive but isn't it normal for people in relationships to deactivate their dating site profiles?
Author Star Gazer Posted December 22, 2008 Author Posted December 22, 2008 Maybe I'm naive but isn't it normal for people in relationships to deactivate their dating site profiles? One would think, yes. They've been dating since the summer.
Trialbyfire Posted December 22, 2008 Posted December 22, 2008 One would think, yes. They've been dating since the summer. Regardless if this was some kind of joke, your friend probably deserves to know that he's still got an active profile going on Match. She might have a different understanding of the definition of exclusivity, than he does.
Mary3 Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 Not only does he have an active profile but you must do a search to find the beauties. So not only is he active but he is searching . I am very curious what his profile says, afterall he is dating someone... My friend and I had this exact same thing happen. Her bf winked at me and started emailing. I played along because I knew he was a scoundrel. I got his phone number and it was THEN that I told her. She did not believe me. He gave me his number and asked me for a date. It was all I needed... Needles to say she called and chewed him out. R over...
