Do you think more are Single? Dating? Serious?

It seem like in college almost everyone is a whore one way or another. Guys and Girls.

Yea i see what your saying.

I told my friend this the other day, but seriously - college is really the only time in your life where its kind of ok to sleep around (not cheat, but experiment). Most of the people I slept with were during my 18-22 years, and a lot of people I know are the same way.

Thats an age for exploring, finding out who you are, and what youre looking for. Without doing that, I dont think anyone could really be in a serious relationship.

Yeah, anyone who acts like they're in one are kidding themselves.

Of course, this is what they would say to this -

"That's not true! I love my boyfriend very much, thank you!"

Anyway, I don't care to be in a serious relationship, but what annoys me is all the girls that think they're in one and won't get out...and that includes most of the girls in that age range. They're all too hooked and focused on one guy to realize that they might have better options. People act like every one is single at this age and it's really easy to sleep around and get dates...well it's not...not for guys at least, because no girl will actually say she's single.

I agree with Alphamale! I have a good friend that's 19 and is supposedly in a serious relationship. All they do is fight and break up every other day. I feel at such a young age one shouldn't be tied to just one person. Should be out experiencing life and all it has to offer. You really will miss out on alot when you put all your focus and energy on someone you fell is "the one". I know and am speaking from experience.

Hmmm. I started my most serious relationship when I was 22 (my ex-marriage). But I see what you guys are saying.

No, it's never serious if a relationship can't last more than a year. I still doubt my last relationship was even serious, but then emotions can make someone irrational.

Why?

I kind of disagree. While I do believe that there aren't many people in that age group who are able to or even want to have a truly serious relationship, I still think it's possible. It depends on the people IMO.

They can have serious relationships -- there's just a high failure rate. In any case, you learn from those experiences, at least.

How is it not possible for people in the 19-22 age range to be in a serious relationship?

I've known plenty of people in that age group to be in a serious relationship, in fact that's usually when people start having serious relationships, when they're in their early 20's.

They're adults, not kids.

In my experience relationships in that age range are usually a learning experience. When I was in college I was in a serious relationship for 4 years (started in HS) Even though we eventually broke up, I would still consider that a serious relationship because we were talked to each other about decisions, factored each other into our lives, and did plan on getting married one day.

I have also noticed that my friends that were in similar relationships also ended up being "learning relationships." At that age we are still figuring out who we are, but are also trying to learn how to function in the adult world which includes having serious relationships.

So now that I have figured out how I want to live my life, have a job and my own place, I feel that my current relationship has a better chance of working out. This is partially because I am more stable than I was when I was in college, and partly because I did have that "serious relationship" and learned the do's and don'ts of a good relationship.

I think they are more single.

There are serious RLs, but they aren't the uber-attractive wild outgoing people you might think or wonder. Most of the time it's the very average looking conservative people, the "good boys" and "good girls" who aren't into the wild college sexual lifestyle the media shows us a lot. There were a handful of people in my High School graduation class who married right after and are still married now.

I personally think that if anyone is really wanting to be married and have a family in life, they should be looking for a marrying mate in that 19-22 age...rather than "live it up" and hope someone will be waiting for them in their late 20s.

However, I think most people aged 19-22 are single. I think with High School ending, and the High School romances ending as they all enter college, they take some time, be single, search for look, but maybe take on hookups or hanging out over traditional dating.

Well, I'm 22 and my fiance is 21, and I would like to think our relationship is serious. We have been together for 3 years and engaged for 9 months. We have also matured and come a long way together, and have been through things that 90% of couples will never go through. We have come out strong, and will agian.

I'm just 19 and you're going think that I'm one of "those girls" but I actually believe that things between my bf and me are pretty serious. I wouldn't hang on that LDR if I wasn't serious about it. I know that I probably won't stay with my current bf for my entire life but right now I'm just curious how far this relationship will take us...
