indianlover Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 So I was reading some earlier threads about online dating and real life dating being in women's favor. Then I was watching "Momma's Boy" - bad Bachelor knockoff - and realized reality TV is one of the only places where men are shown to have the advantage. Why do you think that is? Is there something about this turn about that makes it entertaining to watch?
D-Jam Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Why do those shows work? 1) Women look at them like soap operas. They sit there imagining meeting a wealthy handsome prince and being picked like Cinderella. 2) Women love to hate the "bad girls". So there is the one who would even just sleep with him on the first date to "win", even if she feels nothing for him...women will want to hate her, and enjoy it. 3) Women like to also wager on who will be in and who will get kicked out. 4) MEN...they like the ideas of being told that there are loads of options out there for them. That they should stay single and bang every one of the women who would chase them like that (when they don't have that). 5) Some men also like the idea of seeing loads of women swoon and even lie to get the "bachelor" and possibly cheer on the ideas of the guy taking advantage of the situation and/or using as many of those women as possible.
AlektraClementine Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 haha - D Jam that's a pretty thorough analysis. And probably dead on. We humans are a sick breed aren't we.
