Lovelybird Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I had several Christmas being single, one time I remember I went to a church evening, nobody there except of a group people practicing singing. I forgot what I said in my heart at that time, only remember sadness This year Christmas is very different, with a bright hope . I am seeing God is working His perfect plan. If I knew God's perfect plan back then, I would not waste all those feelings. Anyway hope is a sweet thing
Ocean-Blue Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I think I might be...sort of. I'm not sure just yet. But I get the pleasure of faking it and being civil to put up a front in front of my soon-to-be ex's (?) family. It's all so twisted.
Trimmer Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I've had at least two relationships end on Boxing Day. Both on the same day? What happened, did they find out about each other? I'm in the Single-on-Christmas club, too. This will be my 4th one after separating (eventually divorced) from a 13 yr marriage plus 4 more together before that. Not too anxious about it, though. I'm having a good time. If it happens, it happens.
Teacher's Pet Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I'm single this year, too. Ladies? Any takers? -tp sportin' a mistletoe belt
Love_Forest Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I do not have any soulmate. I was dating men from a dating site, the last one yesterday, He already told to me he cannot say there was fireworks but he wants to go out with me again. why for to meet again with him ??? I do not see any reason? I am so upset with this life, if I would be strong enough I will suicide!
Viking Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I do not have any soulmate. I was dating men from a dating site, the last one yesterday, He already told to me he cannot say there was fireworks but he wants to go out with me again. why for to meet again with him ??? I do not see any reason? I am so upset with this life, if I would be strong enough I will suicide! That's crazy talk. Suicide is for the weak. Living is for the strong. Obviously you're quite strong as you haven't given up. I'm single for the first Christmas in three years. I don't have to buy her gifts that she'll snub her nose at and go to her family's functions, brown-nose her parents, and pretend that I like the scarf she got me (she got me scarves two years in a row...I'm not a scarf man.). Quite frankly, this is the most free Christmas I've had. I didn't need to go big on gifts as everyone is pretty low-key this year and without the boat anchor (ex), I don't feel obligated to try and come up with something better than last year's gift. I made a necklace which took a long time to make and she didn't really like it. Pissed me off and made me sad. So, now I don't have to deal with that.
lino Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 I've been single for every xmas of my life except for one which was 5 years ago. In the end I guess I was technically single for that one also because the girl was just using me as emotional support for a couple of months but I didn't know it at the time. I guess that was the best and worst xmas of my life both at the same time. I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to spend xmas with a lover, I envy those who do so much
Joyvke Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 sportin' a mistletoe belt *mwah*! Single here as well, but not really into Xmas to be fair. I managed to escape the family this year \o/. Xmas is nice if you got a special someone to share it with I guess, but other then that it's pretty much one of the other days in a year .
V.Vixen Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 This is my third single Christmas since leaving my ex husband. I don't mind it at all. I find the holidays to be less stressful because I have less people to buy for and less stress of deciding who's side of the family to spend which holidays with. Sure, being a couple has it's perks, but i don't mind enjoying it with family as a singleton.
silverbunny Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 yup. first christmas in 3 years. kinda weird but yet oddly like all the rest. probably because he never came to ANY of my family holidays through 1 1/2 years... so my family was just always "just me" there. hopefully next year is different...
