The Collector Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Me. I broke up with my gf about a month ago, and am in no hurry to jump into another relationship just yet, so will be celebrating Santa's birthday and the New Year as a carefree bachelor again. Anyone else? In my experience, lots of relationships end around xmas, but often just after xmas when the presents have been exchanged. I've had at least two relationships end on Boxing Day. Also, I've added my profile pic and am happy to receive PMs begging for sex from London-based female members, as long as it isn't south of the river. Non-Londoners who are willing to travel will also be considered.
Lizzie60 Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I've had at least two relationships end on Boxing Day. Next time.. get her what she wants.. I have been enjoying Xmas much better since I'm single (6 years now).. it's sooo much easier to be single..

Author The Collector Posted December 16, 2008 Author Posted December 16, 2008 Next time.. get her what she wants.. Heh, I do remember that on one of the occasions the big present I'd got her was a nice electric guitar. She'd expressed a little interest once, but it was obvious who I really bought it for.

Ross PK Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 I will be, and every Christmas for the rest of my life. Nice art, The Collecter. I do a bit myself, they're hardly 'professional' though, just crazy drawings.
Ruby Slippers Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Me. His family was pretty nice as far as families of boyfriends go, but I am glad I don't have to travel out of state to spend this Christmas with them. They are religious and conservative, and holidays at their house meant being boringly polite all day. Instead, I am going to a singles' Christmas at a friend's house. I always have fun with her, and she often has good weed (so festive!), so I am sure it will be much better. For New Year's (my favorite holiday), we're going to go out on the town and probably each look for a cute boy to kiss at midnight. I have never done such a thing, but I think it will be great fun.
inloveforeverwithyou Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I AM SINGLE THIS CHRISTMAS, but it kinda sucks. I wish I had someone for the holidays.
D-Lish Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 The last time I was seeing someone during x-mas was 3 years ago. It was 3 years before that when I had been with my ex-husband. I've recently broken up with someone and am not looking forward to the holidays as a result. I always feel like the lone single person at the family dinner, friends parties, etc. I wish I was going away somewhere by myself and not paying attention to xmas at all.
Double D Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Coindence or not ive only had one proper relationship over xmas (dont think married women count) Yeah im single this xmas. That in itself is not a big problem. Just recently realising practice iam with making inital contact women I like. So So agree easier being single but is surely must be better time with a loved one?
shadowplay Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 You're channeling Hugh Jackman (with a dash of Sting) in your profile pic. I would have sex with you, but I live across the ocean. British guys are sexy.
Trialbyfire Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 My last STR ended a couple of months ago and I've only dated one guy since, in a very casual way, right after the break up. More friend than anything else, since he's a confirmed bachelor and I'm totally relationship-averse. This is the second time we've casually dating, the previous time right after my separation, not yet divorced. He's a lot of fun but that's it. If you're a woman, don't ever give your heart to a guy like this. Anyways, this is my third single year at Christmas. No big deal, although this year, it won't be a traditional Christmas. *whine, snivel, pout* The Collector, you remind me of my bach friend, which is why I mentioned him at all. While I'm not looking for a good lay, especially one across the pond, you're okay. Happy Holidays to all the singles on LS.
marlena Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Yes, Merry Christmas to all us single folk. I broke up with my last boy friend a few days before Christmas two years ago. That's when I found LS. I remember typing away on New Year's Eve feeling so bereft, the tears just spilling over my keyboard. I remember the nice people on here who reached out to me on that horrible New Year's Eve. They will never know how much they helped me...how grateful I was. Since then, nothing, nada. I lost all interest in relationships. Like Lizzie says, life is so much simpler this way. Non-Londoners who are willing to travel will also be considered. Hey, Collector, would you, too, be willing to travel or is this a one-sided thing, lol? Anyway, cheer up. You're in very good company! Merry, merry Christmas to us all!!
D-Jam Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 I'm not single this year, but the GF will be in Europe visiting family. I was single for the last 6 years, so I know how it feels. Wasn't really down by it either...just more avoided the "couples-centric" atmosphere of New Years. Christmas was more of a "see the family" kind of holiday. So this year I'm sure will be the same.
sumdude Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Yup, single this X-mas... will be so strange. Every year someone else is missing. Mom passed away in 2006, divorce in 2007, aunt and uncle passed in 2007 and dad passed away just last month. Ah well, that's life, I'll try to keep smiling through the rain.
Author The Collector Posted December 17, 2008 Author Posted December 17, 2008 Hey, Collector, would you, too, be willing to travel or is this a one-sided thing, lol? I'm afraid that due to sheer laziness, one of my Rules is 'never travel for more than an hour for sex.' I'm about to PM you a X-Mas present though.

Fierce Grace Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 i'll be single for the holidays yet i'd much prefer a relationship but won't settle for just any relationship.. so i guess i'm content with the idea until my family reminds me how i'm unwed without any children ... and then it sucks..
