John32 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I was trying to set up a 3rd date with this girl and her email reply was "Hey, I wanted to let you know that I'm dating this guy, he is not my boyfriend but we re dating. Let me know what you think about that? HUH????????????????, what the hell is she talkin about-lol
shylight200 Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 She's dating you and another guy at the same time and just wanted to know how you felt about that...at least that's my interpretation
IrishCarBomb Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Maybe?: http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t172004/
prettybaby Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 It's gonna be hard for us to give sensible feedback without any background information at all. Who is this girl? How old are you both? Where did you meet and how long ago was that? What have your interactions been like? What have you previously discussed?
fishtaco Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 When you opened the email was there a bow-chika-bow-wow sound track playing in the background? If it was then you have a threesome happening in your future. While it is perfectly fine for men and women to multi-date before exclusivity (in fact you should always assume this is the case), you shouldn't tell your date about it. You have to keep the people on your dating roster separate as much as possible. Why don't you play along and see what's going on. It's really not that big of a deal to multi-date. If you weren't before this is basically a giant green light for you to do so. However the warning sign here is she volunteered this information for no reason at all.
SoulSearch_CO Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Sounds to me like she was just being honest - making sure you know that there is no exclusivity between you two. I'm the type that shares a little too much at times with my partners, so I could imagine myself slipping and saying something like this to someone I'm dating. I would think that this is just a good way to avoid the awkward posts on down the road that I've read: "I'm dating two guys - what do I DO??? I like this one guy and he thinks we're exclusive, but then there's this other guy..." LOL
