Well I never!

I had made a connection with someone on Match.com. We had been chatting back and forth for the last several weeks via email. I kept everything as conversational and light as possible, just telling him things about me (favorite TV shows, books, etc.) and places I hang out. Last Sunday he called me, my friends were over but he could hear them in the background. They are all guys, watching a football game and cheering at the TV. I said thi wasn't a good time to talk, but I would talk to him later after they had left.

 

The next morning, I get an email from him saying "Best of luck to you, I am getting a bad vibe." Huh? What was that about? Was he intimidated because I had a bunch of guys over the house? I am thinking I dodged a bullet nonetheless.

He overreacted. He could have felt you dismissed him by not talking to him. He could have issues with girls-with-guys-as-friends. He could have been on the fence about dating you all along. He could have been many other things... but you won't really know why. I wouldn't give it much thought.

I think he's insecure...which means if you two dated he would have a problem with you having male friends. I've even seen guys so insecure they believe their GF or wife shouldn't even be sociable with any man (even if it's a man in a RL) unless he's present. Sounds like something you see in the Middle East or something, but it's Caucasian men.

 

I think you shouldn't worry about this one if he's going to be insecure of you knowing other men in a platonic manner. He is why he is single. He's looking for some woman who has no life so she can make him his entire life. Seen one who didn't even like the girl having any friends...so there wouldn't be anyone to convince her to "look for better". Can you believe that?

 

You dodged a bullet. Forget him and go back on Match. I'll bet you find a couple other guys pretty quickly.
