Here's the situation, last march I became single after a 7 year relationship, been pretty depressed. I'm 29 and staying with parents pretty much isolated myself from friends, I'm not working but going for my associates degree online so it helps me feel a little less like a complete failure and I have a wonderful 2 year old son.

Here's the question, does anyone have any advice where I can find some kind of playdates for toddlers I really would like to get my son around some other children and I can't really afford daycare right now, he spends every weekend with his father and during the week I'm having kind of a hard time finding activities for him

As he just 2, it is a good time to start just some BRIEF play dates. Most kids that age don't share yet, so just enough to let him see other little people - twice a week would be enough initially. They need more socialization as turn three I think.

Some churches have a playgroup that meets for a couple of hours a week. Also check your YMCA. These type of organizations offer these couple of hours as "Mom's time to shop" etc. They use these sessions as incentive for you to use their daycare when that time comes. I would check that out.

Also, a good playground always has tots about and if you go a few times you will figure out who is there when. Even if it is right after work 45 mins.
