darklite Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 So I've been seeing this girl I thought was cute around campus all last year, and all of a sudden I found her at a party in my apartment one day! (turns out she's connected through friends to my roommate) The next week I see her at a volunteer club I go to and talk to her casually (saw you in my house, what's your name? who do you know? etc...) She seemed really nice and made this joke I thought was really clever... wanted to sign up for the same time slot as me for this fundraiser (it was full unfortunately). Anywho, I decide I want to take this girl out sometime, and start thinking about her often. I end up sending her a facebook message asking her out while drunk at 2 AM some saturday ago. As I was getting ready to forget any possible encounter with her after that, she sends me a message back with her number and tells me to ask again when I'm not smashed, aha! I waited a day or so and texted her to go out for coffee sometime. She agreed, but that was a bad day for her. This started a series of leaving messages on each other's voicemails for a while trying to find a time we could go out, and eventually we did get coffee. It went better than I expected, as I was feeling kind of low that day. We meet up, I buy us some coffee, we talk about things. I felt kind of awkward and my brain froze up a few times and started mumbling like an idiot, but she seemed to have a good time, laughed a lot, she seemed happy to be there... we talked for over 3 hours! We left, I walked her in the direction of her place, and said bye... I think I should have set up another date then and there, but I ended up calling her the next friday for lunch on sat. She had drank a little when she called me back (I rarely got ahold of her and left messages, but she always called back) and seemed happy to talk to me. We go out next day, I get us some lunch, I felt better about myself that day and thought It went better. She was really nice, seemed into the moment, laughed a lot, looked straight into my eyes. I give her a hug afterwards and go home. At this point I am waiting for a call from her to go out. No such thing happens that week. Not wanting to be the one always asking her out, I don't and decide to just send her a text saying have a nice thxgiving before I leave for the long weekend. no answer. I get back the next week and decide I'd try once more. I call her twice on different days and get no answer, or a call back. I learn yesterday that she now has a legit boyfriend of 3 days. I guess I can't hold it against her, it still gets me a bit down though... I was just wondering if all you good people out there couldn't tell who went wrong and where?
SoulSearch_CO Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 Doesn't sound to me like anybody did anything WRONG. She just happened upon some guy in the meantime between possible dates with you. Or this could have been somebody she's known for awhile, but things didn't happen to heat up until now. I think they just call it bad timing.
