Knight_Ctrl Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 hey guys. Over the last few weeks things have been getting easier for me. I still think about my ex every day but the pain has been less, I've even been hanging out with another girl (just friends for now). But tonight for no reason at all I was laying in bed and I just started crying, nothing even set it off. I realize that I still miss her so bad.... I've been trying my hardest to get over her, I'm on the verge of calling her. Not having her in my life is the hardest thing ever. I dont know what to do...
Dmoney28 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 oh yeah..the phantom tears. It will hit you sometimes out of nowhere. I saw the PUNISHER yesterday at the movies...i had to get up and go to the bathroom and wipe my eyes...got emotional watching the freaking PUNISHER, how lame was that.
Author Knight_Ctrl Posted December 8, 2008 Author Posted December 8, 2008 holy crap, i got emotional during the punisher yesterday too....damn.....im so glad this site exists. I managed to not call her but I hope this never happens again.

This needs to be an official term. I had a case of them today... Some songs that remind me of her will tear me up immediately still. Float On by Modest Mouse just came on and I had to leave the room...
RRyan65 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'm seconding the notion of phantom tears and I'm also glad that people can share their experiences on this site. I have found so many similarities with myself and situation, that the solidarity makes me feel better. As far as memories of her are concerned, I cannot listen to most of my mp3 player because at some point, she was with me listening to these songs, whether she liked the songs or not. I associate the most mundane things with her: Going down most streets, college campus, going to the grocery store we used to frequent at night. I can't wait till I'm better.
amokqq Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 It's nice to know I'm not the only guy that has "phantom tears". Its really strange thing, but now I see that quite a few people have it. I can start crying watching something stupid, listening to something... or it just comes out of no where. It doesn't happen often, but it is quite strange.
Goatsbreath Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 ugg, I got all emotional and broke down watching wedding crashers, how bad is that. I mean, I thought funny movie equals good then there is some cheesy scene where the two main characters are not friends anymore and it shows them alone and sad in a comical way and I still lost it. That's just sad.
