It's been a really looooong time since I've actually kind of started to talk to someone, so I'm not sure if I'm being a moron about the whole thing or what the deal is. I'll try to keep it short. So 2 weekends ago I met a guy who is a friend of a friend of a friend. We all hung out and had a good time. Except he seemed to be really, really shy. His friends kept telling me that he was really funny and usually really talkative, and suggested I should go for it. Well, one of his friends said something about going out again and I jokingly said that I doubt he (the guy I was interested in) would ever ask me out... to kind of test the waters. Well as the night went on, it kind of turned into a joke between everyone and I eventually said he should and jokingly added to at least get everyone off his back. I took his little bit of talking to me as he wasn't interested even though his friends kept telling me to talk to him and that he thought I was cute. Long story short at the end of the night he asked for my number and jokingly said he was tired of playing hard to get. At that time I kind of lost interest because it just seemed like too much work. Then the next day I found out my number didn't save on his phone and he ended up calling a friend of his to call my friend to get my number. Well a whole week went by before I heard from him. He finally sent me a text like hey what's up. Again, I kind of lost interest so I didn't write back. Then I thought maybe I was being too harsh and to give it a chance, so I text him back a few days later. We've been going back and forth with the texts since then. He has yet to call. Tonight I said I was staying in and he asked a little while later if I was sure I wasn't going to go out at all. I then replied with a flirty text of "I might if someone asked me..." We keep texting, but he's made no reply to that. Which was kind of how it was the night I met him. Is he just talking to me to be polite? Why go through all that trouble to get my number after he lost it, but then not really do anything? I've kind of given him the green light now to ask me out twice and nothing. I feel like I'm in high school again.. LOL.
