lovestruck818 Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I am around a size 0-2, and I am 5'8" and about 110 lbs. However I have decent hip-age and my boobs are a 32C, so I'm not totally lacking in curves. But when I get skinnier than I am now (and I used to be), I feel like my curves just melt. My boobs get smaller and I just don't look as good in clothing. I feel very comfortable with the weight I am at and get approached by many guys, however I have friends larger than me who get approached just as often. ;] I think everyone has different tastes, and as long as you are not in the realm of obesity, there will be people who find you attractive. As others said, if you take good care of the rest of your appearance (hair, skin, clothing, etc), how skinny you are seems to not matter much to guys (again, unless you are pushing obesity). You must be really skinny- I'm 5'1", and also a size 0 and I am really skinny...holy crap.
Gremio Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 You can be a bowl full of jelly and/or cellulite at size 0 and be a hardbody or toned at size 14. Women should focus on staying healthy. Each guy will have his preference, as to bodyshape. There are even men out there that prefer the "heap big woman" or the anorexic woman. Whatever rocks your world. Exactly! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. P.S. There is no such thing as tone when it comes to the body. Tone is a pitch in music or a shade of color. It drives me NUTS that the industry still uses this word to relate to exercising.

Haha...I'm toned but not cut.

Trialbyfire Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 No, no, no. You're seriously skinny, hon.Whoah, that's not necessarily true. Some people have very small frames. I've seen some women who are very curvy, who are incredibly tiny but healthy. It's also natural metabolic rate.
IrishCarBomb Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I saw your pic before. Out of curiousity, what was your prior username?
amymarieca Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I am a size 16 and I don't have a problem getting dates. What matters more is that you are confident about your body.
itgirlragdoll Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Whoah, that's not necessarily true. Some people have very small frames. I've seen some women who are very curvy, who are incredibly tiny but healthy. It's also natural metabolic rate. Yep. That's me. I've always had a very small frame. I take care of myself and watch what I eat but I don't "diet" excessively or anything. Where my body seems to naturally stabilize at is 110 lbs. Which, being 5'8", leaves me with some trouble finding pants (size 0 extra long? uh no.) Other than that I'm pretty happy with myself. My friend Erin used to say, "you are the curviest teeny person I have ever seen!" I have had guys tell me I was too skinny. I've also had guys tell me I'm perfect. Everyone is different! If a guy finds your body type unsuitable, it's his problem, not yours.
Isolde Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I've been thinking about why more men approach me now (at a size 10) then when I was at a size 6. And I have to agree with the guys that it mostly isn't about my physical appearance (even though the weight gain has helped me balance out my bust-waist-hip ratio). But my attitude about men has changed as a correlate to 'gaining' weight. Where I used to feel it was about impressing them, now I feel it's about getting to know them (individually). Basically, since I felt 'less attractive' for awhile, I didn't even bother with selling myself... which allowed me to be myself. To have normal, easy-going interactions with them. ... I hope you girls understand, men have never reacted to me this way in the past. Like, I can literally see desire in their eyes. Or they'll visibly go out of their way to talk with me. And I'm not "hot" by any standard set in hollywood. I'm a student so I haven't been able to afford good clothes in months. I'm pretty, I'm relaxed, I like joking around/teasing. I just let go of all the extra pressure I was putting on myself to conform to some external norm of beauty... I stopped thinking landing a man is directly proportional to how hot I am (which, paradoxically, apparently makes me hot). Wow, yeah, I totally understand what you mean. When I truly forget about looks is when I get all the attention When I was a freshman in college, I was still a bit awkward but I got a lot more attention than I do now.
alphamale Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Is size 8 considered as too fat or pudgy? no, size 8 is very nice. whats the average? like 12 or 14??
Tony Posted December 6, 2008 Senior Moderators Posted December 6, 2008 Either be nice in this thread or go elsewhere. There is simply no reason to cut each other up here and such activity won't be tolerated. Please kindly take this discussion to a higher level or simply discontinue it. Many kind thanks!
RecordProducer Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I think I look pretty damn good too.SG, I wouldn't mind spending a hot night with you, babe.
movingonandon Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 For the most part of my life, I've been attracted predominantly to women built like young boys, literally. In my twenties, I don't think I've ever been with a woman above 110 lbs./size 0, or in the vicinity of. Once I hit 30, however, something strange happened, which is that i instantly become attracted to pretty much any woman that wasn't obese or disfigured in some other way. Don't know why, but that's the truth. All of a sudden baby fat, gunts, no boobs, huge boobs, etc. stopped bothering me at all So, although i still prefer the boyish skinny figure above all, basically unless a girl is fat in an obvious and bad way, there are many more attractive templates out there. In fact, this thread is seeing some seriously scorching hotness in size 8 , i never thought I would say that !
movingonandon Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 When I was a freshman in college, I was still a bit awkward but I got a lot more attention than I do now. wow. awkward, nerdy, sloppy, freshman girls! that's the stuff dreams are made of! that said, after a certain age (for guys), there *is* such thing as girls that are "too young".... this includes freshmen
LucreziaBorgia Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 no, size 8 is very nice. whats the average? like 12 or 14?? Yeah, thereabouts. I have a picture in my profile (pre cancer) when I still had hair, and I was a size 12 in that picture - right around 160 lbs. I'd say that is about average for women my height - five foot eight. You really have to work to stay under 135 pounds, watching the diet and exercising. I watch my diet, but I don't diet per se and I don't work out every day. I've been as low as 125 and as high as 180 and never had any complaints at any size, and not having boobs anymore doesn't seem to matter either.
sb129 Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Here's a chart showing the size differences. http://goeurope.about.com/cs/shopping/l/bl_clothes_size.htm US 10 = UK 12 http://reviews.ebay.com/Size-conversion-chart-for-US-UK-EUROPEAN-clothing-shoes_W0QQugidZ10000000002181633 Another from ebay: US 10 = UK 12 I have recently read that it's 4 sizes but I think that's inaccurate. TBF- UK sizes have a higher numerical value than US ones, but there is alot of variation between shops too. I was a 10 in some shops and a 12 in others. Here in NZ the sizes are bigger, so I am a 10 nearly everywhere. In the US I was an 8 at some shops and a 6 in others. You get the picture..... I think I am the only bride-to-be in the world that gained weight before her wedding. I gained nearly 10lbs as a result of living back with my parents and was 145! After some hardcore diet and exercise (and moving out!!) I have lost a bit, and I am going to continue the boot camp style plan till the wedding BUT I feel hot! My fiance thinks I am hot! Isn't feeling hot what matters the most? My fiance is still going to be blown away when he sees me walking down that aisle in 27 days!

Kamille Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 It's a lifestyle commitment! Staying healthy is feeling hawt and hawt you are! I concur 100%. I may have gained weight, but I've never felt more energetic and focused. Maybe I should just commit to being a healthy active size 10. It seems to be working for me.
spookie Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 What I've noticed about guys approaching me, is that the sloppier I look, the more they do. On my thinnest days, when I make any effort to look nice, no one talks to me at all. I write it off as intimidation.

I'm not intimidated, but I know exactly what you mean by that. It's a fine line though between not caring how you look and dressing right in the middle where it draws attention.

It's a fine line though between not caring how you look and dressing right in the middle where it draws attention. It just sucks cause that means if I WANT to be talked to, I can't wear the things that look the best on me, even if they're not even remotely outrageous. When I'm in good shape and I look healthy, I have to dress WAY down no matter what the occasion and wear no or minimail makeup or it looks like I'm trying to hard (even if my "efforts" take half the time that's "average").

That's it though! I was out last night, and EVERY GUY LOOKS THE SAME! A long sleeve button down shirt... or some type of sportjacket and jeans, or a polo shirt and jeans. If I was a woman, I'd keep on walking.
Isolde Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 OMG spookie, same here! If I go out with my hair sticking out in all directions, haven't showered yet, no makeup at all, glasses... guys are all over me.

When we went to bed, she had her curlers in, glasses on, etc. She was embarassed, and she couldn't get it into her head that I didn't care AT ALL, I loved her.
movingonandon Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 OMG spookie, same here! If I go out with my hair sticking out in all directions, haven't showered yet, no makeup at all, glasses... guys are all over me. Yeah... The appeal's still there, but don't take that too far... It only works for very young and close-to-flawless girls (which, being the nice guy I a I assume you are ). Nothing beats a classically dressed, understated, elegent woman. That guys are intimidated by dressed to kill women thing mostly applies to college guys, who for the most part are intimidated by women in general anyway.
