williamz Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I try to go NC with my ex. but im not concrete about it. if she contacts me ill talk with her. usually just joke around for the most part, don't argue or talk about the relationship at all. But I do try to avoid communication with her for the most part. But she contacts me with trivial **** that seems pretty demeaning. Like just tonight she sent me a text complaining about her roommate that we both didn't like, how she keeps her up at night and is annoying. UM OK i dont really care. im not your bf anymore. Complain to someone else. I've made it clear to this girl that I don't want to be friends with her. I'm not bitter or mean to her. I guess what I'm asking is why do they try and stay in your life with trivial stuff when they know you wanted more than that?
Cub Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 The reasons run the gambit, but I wager that the most common is guilt. They want to keep you around until they feel validated, then you won't hear from them again. Just don't answer. You don't have to be nice to someone who kicked you to the curb.

My ex would also contact me over trivial nonsense, such as helping her download movies from the internet, translating some things etc... She'd even contact me to tell me about her new boyfriends and to rub it in my face. She would send me txt messages just to tell me she was on dates, wanted me to find air tickets for herself and her new boyfriend, wanted me to teach her boyfriend's native lanugage etc. At first I couldn't figure out why, but now I get it. She's a control freak, she knew she was losing control over my feelings. She would've done anything to keep them under her control. Crazy bitch. I hope this gives you some insight.
