I have always had a skin problem. It's called ACNE. And of course over the years it has gotten better, but I was just curious on how people get such nice skin. I don't want to use makeup because I like the natural plain jane look with just mascara, but I see on tv that there are people who have that nice natural glow to their skin, plus it looks soft and in good condition. What's up with that? I want nice skin and to see improvement. So, can anyone help me out! Do I start going to the gym? Do I focus on drinking lots and lots of water? What's the deal? Please help. THank you.

I'm sure you already know the basics, but if not I'll list the ones I remember off the top of my head.

1. Follow a nutritious diet - eat plenty of fruits and veggies, make sure you get plenty of vitamins

2. Drink at least 8 to 10 glasses of water a day (more if you're exercising)

3. Exercise - good for circulation and for getting rid of toxins in your body

4. Get plenty of rest

5. Avoid stress if possible

You use the term "glowing" but I'm not sure if you're referring to clarity or luminosity of the skin. I think if you're aiming for clarity, a hydroxy acid (whether alpha or beta) is probably what you're looking for. Luminosity can of course be faked with any decent moisturizer, but if you want that glow from within look it's best to follow the skin basics I listed above.

Your skin type will also play a factor in your skincare regimen.
