Hello everyone. I posted in the Dating forum and realize maybe this section was more appropriate to post in.

I'd just like some opinions on some events which have transpired in my life the last few weeks.

Basically a friend (girl) recently came back in my life. Almost 2 years we had what I will call an intense friendship - both liked each other, and although we fooled around we never ended up sleeping together. Before that we were friends for 2 years.

Eventually she called this off and I was cool with being friends. She eventually met someone new who ended up really hurting her in the end by cheating on her.

Around a year ago our friendship kind of went into "stall" mode - I was busy with school and kind of angry at her and we didn't see each other again until a few weeks ago at a mutual friends birthday. After speaking with her for a bit I realized I missed having her as a friend and by that time I was tired of hanging onto the anger.

So, feeling more confident then I was years ago, I invited her out to one of my friends birthday and we ended up hitting it off, having a good time. It was nice catching up - I ended up dancing with her all night, and at the end of the night I held her hand and kissed her on the cheek goodnight.

Now, the attitude I'm going with now is to just see how things go. I honestly wouldn't mind having her as just a friend, but I'd like to see if there is a spark again. The question I have is - did I move too fast here? Should I have waited to re-establishing a friendship first? Plus, I don't even know if she is seeing anyone right now and I'm the kind of guy which usually respects boundaries when people are in relationships. I'm hoping the more directness from my part didn't freak her out.

I do plan on asking her out again soon.

Thanks
