Eve Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Just wondering if anyone here has seen or is seeing a hypnotherapist? I am hoping to gain some insight. Regards,Eve xx
Author Eve Posted November 28, 2008 Author Posted November 28, 2008 Has anyone else seen a hypnotherapist?Regards,Eve xx
You'reasian Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Yes, what's your question? Eve is baiting for someone else and not really interested in what you had to offer lol.
Geishawhelk Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Well given that we're both in the UK, I would have though that my response would have been more pertinent to her. Oh well.
norajane Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 A hypnotherapist for what? Stopping smoking? Eating too much? Forgetting about your ex?
Meaplus3 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Eve, I have never tired it but I have a friend who used hypno to stop smoking and it worked for her. I have considered it with my anxeity issues.. heard it can work well for that sort of thing too. If you have a good Therapist, he or she should be able to guide you with this type of treament. Good luck. AP:)
georgehutton Posted December 1, 2008 Posted December 1, 2008 I've successfully used several pre recorded hypnosis CD's which have helped me pretty well. Some useful ones are from a company called learningstrategies. You might want to check out thier paraliminals. I also participated once in a stage hypnotist show where I was hypntotized to get into an argument while speaking martian in front of the United Nations. It was quite a wierd experience. I'd definately recommend hypnosis to help you out. Just make sure to check the references of the hypnotist, to make sure they have lots of satisfied clients. You want to look for clients that say they've been cured or healed or whatever only after a couple sessions. You don't want to get hooked into having to go once a week for like eighty years.
Author Eve Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 George, I have checked out the qualifications of a local hypnotherapist plus I have also recently had a first hand account of her helping someone with a very prounounced stammer. I was surprised by the range of services on offer! Past life regression sounds very interesting indeed! Its all a bit expensive though..I asked about hypnotherapy because my eldest daughter is going through a few problems at the moment. Thankfully our family Doctor is excellent and he has chosen to engage with her via talking therapies in the first instance, with reccommendations to try and improve her diet, exercise and social functioning. All of which I totally agree with. I am hoping that hypnotherapy could be useful in terms of teaching relaxation techniques etc.. something tangible that my daughter could take away and own for herself .. but I had not heard much feedback (until very recently) about how helpful the process can be. I might have a session or two myself. Especially as its nearly time to go back to Uni and I am feeling nervous .. again.
Geishawhelk Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Is there any point in my asking you why my offer of input was glossed over, Eve?
Author Eve Posted December 5, 2008 Author Posted December 5, 2008 Geisha.. to say 'any point?' in your question is quite interesting in itself... to me. H'mmmmmm...Within my initial questioning, I was looking for experience, without complication. I see enough complication and projection in my daily life and wanted to read comments which were vulnerable in the sense of the poster striving to give something of themself and maybe even a glimpse of something which has worked (?). I admire this quality and this is what I ulitmately seek in 'real life'. Your post struck none of these needs/essentials.Also intuition is one thing I follow without question. For some reason you strike me as one to PM endlessly about others here. Am I incorrect?Regards,Eve

Anyone who has received PMs from me is more than welcome to back me up. Secondly, you hyper-analise. You read too much into few words. Thirdly, I had hypnotherapy that worked extremely well.
Konfuzion Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I have use hypnotherapy before, I was a smoker 20-30 a day for 20 years and I had been trying to quit for years went to hypnotherapy and I haven't had a cigarette in over 4 years now.
Ronni_W Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 Eve, There are a few free (or less expensive) options for relaxation and stress management. Google 'breathing exercises', 'meditation', and 'yoga' to see what free instruction is available. Or a yoga or pilates instructional video? Your daughter may also like to try this free tool: http://www.richbits.com/RBArchives/45sRB_powerpause.htm EFT (emotional freedom techique ... emofree.com) is another effective, easy to use, simple to self-learn, empowering self-help tool. Note though: the free manual is like a million pages, but the technique is within the first 30 or 40 pages...when I downloaded it, I freaked out cos it is so bejeez BIG .
