Posco_Proudfoot Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 A lot of people have suggested going to a church singles group just to get back in the swing of things. The church I belong to has a huge singles group. The group is considered non-denominational, meaning you don't have to be a member of the church or faith to attend. Just wondered if anyone has any experience with these groups and what your thoughts were.

I compromised my body in my last relationship and I settled for less in various ways. Christian single seminars allow you to see things from a different perspecitve. You also get to interact with other singles like yourself. Your self esteem is boosted as you realise that a lot of times we settle for less. They also direct you towards the right path regarding future relationships and finally you are able to feel more confident, more empowered cos you realise that the right person WILL come, in God's time. Your future is secure, you don't have to feel like you are alone/ will never find love. You will.
alwayssme Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 i want to find a good church where I can feel comfortable and that will help me feel better and make my belief stronger. The church I was going to was def. not doing that...How do you find a new church? and out of curiousity, what exactly is a church singles group?
norajane Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 If it's your church, a church you already go to, why WOULDN'T you go to a singles group? What on earth could you possibly have to lose? At worst, you don't meet anyone you want to date, but could potentially meet friends of both sexes. At best, you meet some single people you might be interested in dating and with whom you already have one significant thing in common.
CaliGuy Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Though I believe it may be a good place to meet someone, definitely not during services. Try doing that on volunteer missions. Go to Church to give praise to God, not to "hook up". Cheers!
