fromlonelytogreat Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 I want to do something different. I have decided that I am NOT going to stay home this weekend and be all sad.
dgiirl Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 Visit all the touristy places in your city! Have you ever wanted to see the botanical gardens, the zoo, or that special something your city is known for yet you've never made the time to go? Now's the time! Museums, art galleries, your downtown core. When my exh left me, I decided that was the time I should actually visit my own city! It was a great way to get out of the house and I didnt feel so alone because I could people watch all day long. I also took a small digital camera with me so I didnt feel so out of place and the camera helped me stay focused on my surroundings instead of focusing on me. This was 4 years ago and I've never let the camera down since. It's become a huge hobby in my life.
lazlow99 Posted November 18, 2008 Posted November 18, 2008 What are your interests? There must be a club you can join in your local area.

monkey00 Posted November 23, 2008 Posted November 23, 2008 Don't tell us, be spontaneous and just do it!
Author fromlonelytogreat Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 I went to the movies by myself for the first time. It felt rather liberating.
LittleDove Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Suggestion...or two.. im doing this to get out and meet people, instead of being a freakin hermit..its way too easy and depressing. Ive also had ENOUGH of being sad. Go out on a limb!! do something you wouldnt normally do, like go to the gym, or better yet, join a boot camp, and become friends with people that way...rock climbing...indoors, another great hobbie and way to meet LOTS of people... Im doing a skydiving licence...thats MY thing, and when im out doing that- I dont spare a second thought to the egox!!! (more interested in living when im UP there) thats extreme, but it has put me in amongst like minded people who I mostly click with, have a laugh with...costs a bit, but at the moment, lifes all about spoiling myself and living! I went to some touristy places, climbed the harbour bridge.. and I just felt SO alone. Movies alone isnt too great either. basically im avoiding couples!!!! and now ive found this break up is making me really fit!!
