Gold Pile Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I haven't had a real date in 2.5 months http://www.loveshack.org/forums/showthread.php?t=163289 I hope to change that Monday. Some time ago I pretended to be a professional interior decorator to get a discount on some furniture. http://www.loveshack.org/forums/t164744/ Last Tuesday I was stunned to get a call from a woman saying I came highly recommended by the furniture retailer. She even said she heard great things about me as a contemporary decorator. She sounded kind of sexy and the conversation revealed she divorced about a year ago and just moved to this state to make a new start. So I decided it couldn't hurt to meet her before I found some way out of this 'job'. (sorry, I'm all booked up till next year). I was glued to HGTV for 2 days trying to learn "decorator speak". I met her Thursday...she was very good looking and about 5 years older than me. She wanted help with the living room. I suggested reversing the wall/trim color scheme to white walls with hi-gloss black trim (all the rage in Europe I lied) and to furnish with the ABC furniture dealer's contemporary line. She loved it and asked me to recommend a good painter. Of course I didn't know any and I wanted to spend some time with her...so I said no over priced painters are up to my standards. I said she and I should do the painting ourselves and that I wouldn't charge her extra for painting. She found my $400 fee a bargain. I'm saving her a bundle by passing on 100% of my decorator's furniture discount. We spent a few hours together Friday at the furniture and paint store. Maybe 7 hours painting (and breaking for lunch) today. I tried to be my usual funny self and she was fun too...we hit it off. Typical of all female painters(after several hours)...she delighted in dabbing paint on me. Laughing away...I painted her butt while groping rudely around. After painting in silence for awhile, she finally said she had assumed I was gay. NOPE. I invited her out to dinner Monday. If I don't mess things up at Sunday's painting, I'll finally have a date.
MusicChick24 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Wow what a scam! No offense but when she finds out she is going to be totally pissed and have nothing to do with you. <3 Tread carefully
quankanne Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Yep. Women hate being lied to, and unless she actually likes being courted under false pretenses, goldy, yer screwed. Figuratively speaking.

Firstly, she assumes you're an actual interior decorator, which, stereotypes aside, is a profession that tends to be dominated by homosexual men and women. So, you should really not be offended if she assumed you are gay as you're no interior decorator. But I think you've messed it up even more by lying--she probably still sees you as gay despite your denial, and she already sees you as a friend, if not a professional. You're dumb, btw.
zachary85 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 This is hilarious. I didn't think really people ever ended up in these kind of situations - it's like something from a sitcom! You're a champion mate! I say good luck getting out of the lie and hope it turns out well.
madgun68 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 -Gold Pile. An honest man with an honest plan-Haha! Thanks for the laugh.
Lizzie60 Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 I painted her butt while groping rudely around. Hahaha... did you paint a 'W' on each cheek... that makes 'WoW'... you're completely nuts.. and hey.. if you need advice about decorating.. I'm an interior designer.. you know that..
OpenBook Posted November 16, 2008 Posted November 16, 2008 Wouldn't that be something, if this developed into a new career for you, GP!! You're obviously full of creative ideas... channeling them into a lucrative profession would be awesome!! Not to mention, you'd probably get laid a lot. ("Oh my - you're not gay??!? Well now...") Only your interior decorator knows for sure.
sam light Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I suggested reversing the wall/trim color scheme to white walls with hi-gloss black trim (all the rage in Europe I lied)I'm redoing a room in my house you will not be getting that contract! Black trim?!?! at a glance it will look like the trim isn't up at all.
casanovacorner Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 I agree, you're screwed... unless.... you turn it into a new profession, or just have sex with her and blow her off. You already have your foot in the door, so why not? You already messed it up by lying, so you might as well get it and go.
Author Gold Pile Posted November 17, 2008 Author Posted November 17, 2008 Sunday she kept making wise cracks that ALL decorators were gay. Finally I grabbed her and we started making out. Things went really bad and I'm hurt. I canceled today's date but I really don't want to talk about it.

I just got back from 7 days in a row of real honest work, so I've been out of the loop. If you don't have a career in Interior design... you should be a writer!
InLimbo2 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 my faith in karma is restored Sunday she kept making wise cracks that ALL decorators were gay.
