You're pretty! Nothing wrong with the way you look. So perhaps it's the way you carry yourself. Are you shy? Are you self-conscious? Self-confidence is always key, no matter how you look.

Posted

The only problem I can see are the little white stringy bits coming out of your ears.

Don't know about you, but they'd worry me.....

other than that, you're very pretty!

I think you're pretty too. But please don't be offended...you could use some make up. Not that goopy crap you smear all over, but just something to accentuate your eyes and lips.

Runway eyes makes nice sparkly eye shadows and you can use that to line under your eyes as well. I recommend their blues for you. Sultry eyes are sexy. And the blue will be a nice contrast with your brown eyes.

As for your lips I would go with a rich plum. With a gloss on top.

You are lucky that you're pretty without make up. You don't need it to hide anything.

You can use it to enhance your features and voila...gorgeous!

I seem to have a hard time attracting attention from the opposite sex. It seems like I have a real hard time finding a date. So i'm left to assume it has to do with my outward appearance. Please let know what I can do to improve my looks.

THank you!

PS I am new to this site! So friendly advice only please!

Personally I think your very attractive as well. I would definitely have no complaints.

Ah no.. not another thread..

Methink you know very well that you are good looking.. you just need people to tell you over and over.. ;)

nothing wrong with your looks... maybe something wrong with your personality.. :o

I think you're cute but do something about your eyebrows. Grow them back and have them properly shaped. If you want to enhance your eyes, consider some false eyelashes or permanent extensions. Your minimal makeup style, suits you.

I guarantee it is not your looks. You are very very pretty. It is the way you are carrying yourself. Do you make eye contact with men and smile? Do you walk tall with your head held high, or do you slump and look at the ground?

Men don't approach a woman who doesn't look confident and interested, even if they are the hottest one around.

I would seriously think twice before you let someone come near your eye with a knife.

You are 100% beautiful, stunning in fact. Be happy with who you are and your heritage.

I find you attractive as well. I would not have surgery done on your eyes. Some people will find you attractive and others will not but that is their loss.

Posted

hon, you've got an incredibly sweet face – the type that makes feel people feel good, feel secure and that they've got a potential friend in you because the kindness they detect in your visage. Surgery is up to you, but I honestly dont believe it'll be an improvement on what nature has blessed you with.

I think you're lovely ... and you quite resemble the librarian at the Catholic school here, and she's really, really pretty, inside AND out!

Seriously, let me tell you something. Ive had a few things"fixed" so I know a little.

Men traditionally love the way asian women look. So exotic, I cant argue with that. If you have your eye lids changed, you will lose that. If that is something that matters to you. I'm a bit vain, I admit, it would matter to me.

But more for you - asian eyes/lids do not age the same as others. That extra fold as you age, becomes another wrinkle. You are at an advantage , dont change it.

All that aside, you are beautiful. Save the "fixing" for something thats broke. If you must.

Dont touch your eyes, you are gorgeous and de-lovely!

you're very cute!! and trust me I'm one honest and blunt person and would tell you if you needed to work on your looks but it's either how you carry yourself like how someone else said or you're just looking at the wrong place.

Go about your ways and just be yourself. Trust me, you should have no lack of confidence because you're attractive, now you just need to find someone who will see everything else in you.

The only thing that I would change about that photo is to get rid of the hollywood-style light bar over the sink. Don't touch your face...it's gorgeous.

I have a 5-yr-old (very white!) daughter who will pull at the edges of her eyes to make them appear Asian and tell me, "Mommy, I wish my eyes looked like this. It's so pretty." So there ya go.

The people who are giving makeup advice are cracking me up. A confident average looking woman is way sexier than any insecure made up one. Clearly, the OP is probably even above average, and needs more confidence if she is posting her pic on here for validation.

To the OP... walk and smile with confidence and show the world what you have to offer. You can do it!

OP, you reminded me of my best female friend from 20 years ago. She's ethnic Cantonese and could've been your sister at that age. IMO, it's not your looks, it's your aura. You feel differently about the person you see in the mirror than you do within your psyche. There's a disconnect. Those signals leak out in your actions, body language, and how you interact with others on the subconscious level.

The good news, regardless, is that you're completely normal. Assuming your handle indicates your age (28 or so), experience will meld your self-images into one you're completely comfortable with and one which will attract the right man for you.

Welcome and best wishes! :)

I have not looked at your picture, because looking at your photo will not change my opinion that YOU are a unique and beautiful individual. One cannot change the one looks. Doing so will only steal your soul. Please, learn to appreciate the way you look. Don't compare yourself to others. Get used to the comfortable feel of your own skin!

I will, i know some people can be smart on these forums. Thanks for your response, It was very well written! I really hope my psych doesn't match how I really look.. If it does then I am screwed! lol

You didn't answer anything though. So: are you shy? Do you have self confidence issues? Are you outgoing at all? I'm curious now as to why you'd even question your looks.

There are many personal validation threads that crop up on LS. Rough guesstimate would be that the vast majority of threads on LS are validation threads.

If you truthfully want to improve on your looks, go get a professional arms-length opinion from a cosmetologist who doesn't have products to sell you. How about an entire make-over, clothing inclusive?

Hi pretty baby! Sorry about not responding.. I do have insecurities around new people especially.. I may have social anxiety. I blush real easily, and no, I'm not super outgoing. i'm only fairly outgoing if I feel I look decent..

People with iPods are in their own worlds and don't really want to be bothered by others.

If you want to attract more people, ditch the iPod because it screams "leave me alone!"

Oh yeah, you are kinda cute. :)

OP, you sound a lot like my friend. She, at your age, was a college graduate and successful but she still doubted herself. It was kind of like she thought she'd pinch herself and the dream would be over. She probably liked me and our friendship because I accepted her (the good parts and the doubts) as a whole person. The friendship lasted for a good 10 years until she got engaged. I think her BF confused our intimacy for something latently sexual (it wasn't) and the dynamic put her in a spot and she made the appropriate choice.

Probably the best advice I can give you is to watch for those interactions which just flow; not the obviousness of sexual overtures, but rather the quiet understanding of your totality. From such beginnings, great relationships can ensue. The right man will inspire you to grow for you, beyond what you envision for yourself. It's a pretty cool adventure :)
