Peter_pan Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Over the past couple months i have become paranoid about my hair line, comparing it to when i was 16 it looked like jamie fox or kanye west type hair line at the front top bit of your head ive just turned 21 and if i lift and hold my hair up at the sides it is creeping back and i dont know what to do. i want there to be hair there. im worried about it and when i obsess about something it isnt good. my hair is thick, not thinning anywhere else, there are little hairs poking around at the top but i dont know if that means these are going to fall out and reced further or there new hairs growing. all i can think of is that its stress thats caused it, if thats the case what can i do about stress? and will it grow back on its own accord? ive looked around online and laser from ihs looks to be quite good? what can i do? it never used to look this way, its horrible
georgejungle Posted November 14, 2008 Posted November 14, 2008 welcome to the club, dude. it sucks, but life goes on. I'm totally losing my hair. Starting losing it around 24. I'm not completely bald, but i can see the Male Pattern Baldness thing starting on me, so my hair is thinning on top. It sucks hardcore, but I've learned to deal with it. I Too had really thick hair. I think it's totally hormone-related, that DHT crap. Sucks. BUT I don't want to take pills the rest of my life or try and use weird shampoos or Pour Rogaine on top of my head 2x a day for the rest of my life or get surgery or have someone laser my head, I'd rather just LET IT RIDE and invest in some cool hats and beanies and focus on bettering the rest of my body, stay in shape, workout...etc. In Conclusion, Nothing really works. There's no Sure Cure for Baldness, i know, i went thru the same thing researching, trying supplements, crazy shampoos, etc. No Avail.. Accept it.

mark982 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 i think you need to check into what the pro bodybuilders use, to stop hair loss while on high steroid use.
replicator Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Hey Pete, Unfortunately it's something there isn't much you can do about. It's natural part of aging to lose some hair; about one out of five guys start losing it in the 20's. Some more than others. I know it can be tough - especially when you're already have enough things to worry about, but you'll be okay. Hair or no hair, it doesn't make the man. What's in your head is infinitely more important than what's on top. A good looking guy will be good looking with or without hair, and fortunately most women aren't as shallow as us men.
Geishawhelk Posted November 17, 2008 Posted November 17, 2008 Genetics. Also look at grandparents. Stuff like this sometimes jumps a generation.
