Melrapuo Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Ok, so I'm online tonight. My longtime friend IMs me to tell me he has something funny to say to me. Now usually its a good joke or something, so I go sure, say it. He goes lemme call you, and I say fine. So he calls laughing, and I'm thinking "ok, this should be good." He first says "so I was online talking to (my ex)" and right here is where I think nothing funny can come out of this. But its something that makes me rather happy/angry. She asks him if he's still friends with me. He goes "Of course, I was friends with him years before you two started dating. Why the **** would I not still be friends with him?" (He's drunk, btw. So this makes it that much better.) She then proceeded to say that she's heard "thru the grapevine" that I've been hanging out with a bunch of these sluts. Now I figure she's been spying on me, cuz I haven't talked to her in like three months. Haven't checked up on her, nothing. Not friends with her on myspace, facebook. Haven't let myself check that crap. I bet, tho, that she's somehow seen my facebook pictures online. I have pictures of me with my friends, their gfs, and their gfs friends. There are some with me arm and arm with some of these girls, but theres nothing there that can make her assume I'm doing anything with them. And its angry that she's calling them sluts, cuz she doesn't ****ing know who they are in the first place. Besides, its not her business who I hang out with. And she's dating someone, so she shouldn't be asking these questions. O, my friend decides to tell her pretty much the same thing. Along with, in the most eloquent of ways possible (thats sarcasm), that I've waited long enough to hang out with new girls, and if they are sluts, that he's glad, and hopes that I put it right in all their *******s. Like I said, he was eloquent about it. It pissed me off that she's spying on me though. I've truly stayed as far away as possible from hearing/seeing/involving myself in ANYTHING that deals with her. We haven't been together for almost six months. If you wanna know more about the break up, please just search it. I'm also happy that I have friends like I do, cuz he made me laugh. Just had to vent. Thanks.
Trimmer Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 It pissed me off that she's spying on me though. So just to get this straight... Is looking at pictures on your Myspace and/or Facebook - pictures posted publicly on the web for anyone to see - considered "spying?" Why should she matter, when you are trying to distance yourself from her? Shouldn't your issue be with your friend who brings up your ex, and tells you all about his conversation about you with her, when a decent friend would know that you've been trying to stay "as far away as possible from hearing/seeing/involving myself in ANYTHING that deals with her." This is a friend?
Author Melrapuo Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 So just to get this straight... Is looking at pictures on your Myspace and/or Facebook - pictures posted publicly on the web for anyone to see - considered "spying?" I made it so only friends can see my photos. If she saw those photos (and I'm only assuming that she did. Maybe she heard it from someone else, but I dunno who), then she'd have to have viewed them thru either someone who is a friend of mine on facebook. I actually had this discussion in a philosophy class recently, actually. No, its not private information, since its on a public website. But she'd have to put in some extra effort to see them. I'm angrier that she's calling these girls sluts. It's not like I'm calling the guys she hangs out with *******s or something.
Author Melrapuo Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 Nah, you're right. When he started telling me about it, I wanted to tell him to stop. Guess I should've.
