DollWelch Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I have the heels, but I don't have the dress to go with the shoes. Help! I will be attending a special event, and I need to find the right dress color to match my heels. So, my heels are close to this shade of green: http://www.endless.com/dp/B0017YVARU?tag=endlesscj-20&linkCode=asn&creativeASIN=B0017YVARU. But, NOT the same style heel. My heels look different -they're closed in the back. Anyways, what dress color/type would match with those heels? I don't want to end up looking weird if I get the colors wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks.
Trialbyfire Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 Those shoes scream tight, black pencil skirt to me.
jerbear Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I like TBF's idea but what kind of event is it? There are subtle differences between black tie events, cocktail, fundraising, would dancing be involved, who will be there (wedding, political, business, etc) The black dress should work but get edgy and short. Show more legs, maybe your back or strapless, etc...
Trialbyfire Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 I woudn't wear those shoes to a black tie/gala/fundraising event. Now political or business, yes.
Author DollWelch Posted November 11, 2008 Author Posted November 11, 2008 Normally, I would wear a black pencil skirt with such shoes, as it'll look great but I am sick and tired of black/colored pencil skirts. I want something different. So I think I dress would be flattering. But, what color? I want to look gorgeous for the event (Holiday Party) but at the same time I don't want to look like a cheap hooker. Something classy, natural and sophisticated. Other than a black pencil skirt, what else would work?
sb129 Posted November 11, 2008 Posted November 11, 2008 How about a wrap dress, similar in style to a Diane VonFurstenberg wrap dress. I would probably wear a plain colour rather than a print with those shoes though. A darker forest green could look good, or charcoal if you are sick of black? I have a black wrap dress and I wear it all the time.
