Methink you just want to show off your nice toned body... ;)

Gee, ya think? That's OK, we all need external validation... from a bunch on online strangers, that is. Nothing is as important as the opinions of people you'll never meet!

And then I imagine what this dog needs to do to get the life he wants, and respect in the dog world. And how a dog would feel about such things like his body. I imagine the dog playful bright eyed and radiant in every situation easily making friends with every being he comes across. I also imagine the dog focused on the goal he wants and not self conscious at all. Like a puppy. Maybe this seems sort of silly but for me it worked.

Actually, this is astonishingly sensible, not to say insightful...

I'm a Dog Behaviourist, and I work with people to help them understand their dogs and interact with them in a way that will give the dog a happy stress-fee life.

if you observe the best and wildest dog of all (the Wolf) you will see that the "leader of the Pack" - or the Alpha male - is not always necessarily the strongest, fastest or the biggest.

It's not size, speed and strength that wins the day.

It's Presence and Attitude.

It's the ability to make good decisions, have the welfare and well-being of others at heart, have the means of getting out of trouble without violence and the know-how of being able to sustain and support the dependents.

pretty good Life-skills.

believe me, when people come to me with problem dogs - the dogs don't have a problem.

The people do.

if we could all actually learn to interact and think how wolves think, instead of being wrapped up in trivia - we might actually get somewhere!

Great post, edinsvet!

The most common dominant wolf usualy is the strongest... unlike humans were its the most intelegent or some one just born into it

No, truly, it's not a question of strength, it's a question of knowing how to use what you've got.

Put it this way, KMT. You have admitted you occasionally get into skirmishes and fights. I'd be willing to bet you've been in a position to take on people who may look bigger and stronger than you, but you've succeeded in running rings round them.

There's this "don't mess with me, you'll regret it" kind of message.....

It's to do with attitude, agility, ability, presence and technique.

Same with wolves.

Granted, I haven't seen many wolves attending my local martial Arts school, but I hope you see what I mean. :)

I know, and it's a natural assumption to make, but I've been doing this a long time, and it never ceases to amaze me, the things I find out.

tell you what, if we were to seriously elect our leaders on this same premise, many of our global head honchos would never have made it past the first post.

It's a good way of sizing people up generally, in any kind of situation where authority is a pre-requisite.

Put them into a wolf-pack. Where would they be, in the dominance stakes?

But I digress.
