markyboy1983 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Why can't ur ex just say, it's over, i don't like u anymore, instead of i still wanna be friends, i still love u. Wouldnt it make life alot easier if they could just say it?
SelfCentered Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 It makes it easier for them to handle their guilt, I guess. They want to end it on "good terms", they want you in their life. They want something other than you, but they don't want you out of their life all together. So they say "let's be friends". Interpret that as "I want to have something else but I still want you, I want to win twice!". Personally, I'm now saying "you didn't want me in boyfriend form, why the hell would I want you in friend form"? I'm glad they say it. It gives us dumpees the oppurtunity to turn around at a later date and "screw you, I'm not going to be you friend". Then we can only hope they begin to feel a fraction of the pain they put us through!
EmperorR Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 because if they told you that, then you would ask why etc. etc. etc.
Gere51 Posted November 10, 2008 Posted November 10, 2008 The "let's be friends" thing is a cowardly way to break up. When someone tells you that, the first response should be that you're not in the market for anymore friends, then break all contact with them. Being friends only benefits them and not you, and in the long run you'll end up hurting more.
