Funkymonkey Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Lately, i've been trying to get rid of this girl in my life. She hasn't caused me any problems at all, but its the fact that I like her too much, and her being constantly in my mind really makes me feel down all the time. I worked my last shift with her yesterday night, since we both work Friday nights, I now got schedualed to work Saturday nights and won't be seeing her weekly anymore. It did suck alot, since I really look forward to seeing her every week at work. What pisses me off most in this situation is how she talks to me, sends me mixed signals, and I can never understand what she wants. Last night, for example, when I told her that I wouldn't be working friday nights anymore she got really sad put her head on my shoulder and was like "Noo, I don't want you to leave, I look forward to working every Friday!" And as a joke I was like haha yeah probably beacuse you look forward to seeing me, and this was just a joke I wasn't expecting anything at all other than a laugh, but she came up and was like No I'm serious, thats exactly why." So at this point i'm just shocked and had nothing to say. Rest of the shift goes quietly and at the end, as i'm leaving to restaurant I tell her hey give me a call over the weekend well hang out, give her a hug and she just holds me really close and tight. It felt amazing and horrible at the same time. Later that night i'm just rethinking everything that happened at that shift and what she said to me I just kept thinking to myself, look your giving me these clear signals and at the same time you have a boyfreind you claim to "Be in love with him." I feel like I have every right to be confused, but I just want to know what she wants. I feel like that's not going to happen any time soon. So my best bet is to leave her behind. I know it's going to be tough but I feel like it's my only choice at the moment. I have no clue how to go about this. I really want to make it work, but would you agree that I'd have to move on? I'd appreciate any tips.
CGrace44 Posted November 9, 2008 Posted November 9, 2008 Ok, let me get this right...you like her, she seems to like you but at the same time she has a boyfriend so you are trying to get rid of her? If this is correct, I would say that she has a problem with the relationship she is in and needs to deal with that on her own before anything with the two of you should even be considered. I know girls who behave the same way because they are used to being adored by guys and then get a boyfriend and start to feel less of a prize to their boyfriend as things get too familiar/routine. In this case, this is not your issue. I would say that you should back off, still be friendly (but nothing more) and let her make the first move, if and when she figures things out--otherwise, she is just dangling you on a string because she wants you to want her.

What I mean by get rid of her, is because everytime I think of her, i just become unhappy that I can't spend any time or see her as much. I understand you when it comes to me needing to back off, but if I back off i'm afraid all contact between me and her will be cut since we already don't see each other anyways only ever just at work.
