From reading posts, dating and conversations with friends I wonder what trust really feels like and how do you know when your significant other is truly trustworthy? I often hear from both sexes that trust doesn't always come easy because of one reason or another. Over the past few years wanton-gratification has become so prevalent in relationships. These days, people have more options and distractions than ever before. So, with all is considered how do you really know when the certain man/woman can be trusted?

Hidden cameras, keystroke recording software, and GPS.

Actually, I'm doing something unthinkable, I'm dating a virgin that does't believe in sex before marriage.

When you first start dating someone, there's a reasonable trust level, where the cup is half full. After a length of time, potentially years, that cup gets filled more and more through words/actions that match, until your cup is full.

Having said all that, you never know for certain if someone is or isn't going to cheat. If you want the rewards of real love, you have to be prepared to take the risk. Without trust, you cannot have deeper emotions.

That's a good way of putting it.

If someone breaks my trust early on in the relationship, it's almost impossible for me to regain it. For me, it's a slow building process, that develops over months and years.

My bf just asks lots and lots of questions. If I tend to be inconsistent, he digs deeper. It's not a matter of trust. He knows I cheated in my past, and so has he. So, does he think I might cheat because he might? Does he think that when I go on business trips I'll cheat just because we all know nobody will find out? Whether I would or not, would he if our situations were reversed?

Time can only tell if he will ever trust me enought to not ask so many questions. Time will tell if I can answer him honestly that I did nothing wrong.
