Gold Pile Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 Times were different when I was 15...we were the last of the baby-boomers. On Halloween the streets of suburban America were filled with teenagers. There wasn't much diversity of any kind..narrow minded in it's way but we also felt very safe. Keep that in mind, a million teens and everyone felt safe. A patch of woods separated my town's residential section from the mixed commercial/residential section. To walk from one section to the other via the streets/sidewalks was nearly a 1 mile circuitous trip. OR you could cut thru "the woods" ...a much shorter straight line trip. Halloween, at age 15 my cousin Bob and I decided to hide in the woods and grope passing girls. Everyone always knew everyone, even in our masks word quickly spread that the Pile cousins were groping girls in the woods. We reasonably expected or 5 gropes that evening but as word spread we ended up with about 15 encounters and that's not counting the repeat customers that came back for more. The next year was a real mob scene, the woods were full of girls cutting thru the woods and inexplicably turning around and cutting thru again. It was easier to grope two girls (one for each of us) it was awkward (for everyone) with larger groups...the "extra girls had to pretend they didn't hear their friends screaming and wait to be "suprised" when their turn came. Bob's Mother (my Aunt) was then a knockout in her 50's (what a body!). She came to investigate reports of her son's misbehavior. I looked on in horror as Bob (not recognizing her new coat) snuck up behind her and copped a feel. The 3 of us were forever traumatized by that. The next year was our last and best year. The girls had learned to walk in pairs and to leave enough space so that one pair could maintain plausible obliviousness to the screams of the girls getting fondled 20 feet in front of them. After our 2nd year I approached several girls and told them I felt a special connection to them and that the other gropes had meant nothing. One became my girlfriend for several months.
a4a Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 I am looking forward to the publishing of your life stories GP.... This story did bring a warm fuzzy feeling to me. I never thought you were the type to voluntarily provide a community service. This shows that even in your youth you were such a giving lad. Well Done Gold Pile!
Sassy Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 lol .. :lmao:GP you always have some very interesting stories to tell! So how have you been ? I have been busy with my almost 4mth old ,haven't been on too much !
Author Gold Pile Posted November 4, 2008 Author Posted November 4, 2008 Thanks a4a and sassy. it was mostly fun for everyone except.... Bob and I were quietly waiting for our next "victim" when we heard twigs snapping down the path. Something very big was approaching. I was thinking a bear..not common in the burbs but possible. Bob thought a rino or hippo (wrong continent) Rude judy one of the 3 fat kids in school (back then we admitted that being fat was caused by lazyness and eating like a hog...so endless taunting kept the number of fat kids down)...came crashing thru the woods. We froze. I stopped breathing thru my nose in favor of quieter mouth breathing. As she rumbled closer we stopped breathing all together. It was a chilly October but still we were sweating bullets hoping she woudn't find us. Eventually she gve up on her grope quest and left. Close call!
Lizzie60 Posted November 4, 2008 Posted November 4, 2008 OMG.. this thread is hilarious.. I can picture you... You are something... Keep those stories coming.. I enjoy them the most..
sam light Posted November 5, 2008 Posted November 5, 2008 We are the same age then. It is true that our fairly segregated suburbia 70's lives were safe and prosperous. The 80's and 90's saw some harsh growing pains. Now we have a Black president what a change from what would be possible in the 70's. Funny, two guys used to feel-up girls in the woods near my parent's place. Does your real 1st name begin with "K"?
