i consider myself to be goodlooking - maybe a 7.5 out of 10. im 30 years old - possibly look younger and slim. My skin colouring is brown and my ethnic origin is east indian.I recently joined a paid site and put up a few pictures as you do.

I found that a few members declined my intials interests - when i probed further - i found that they this was due to race. One of them siad that he thought that 2 different cultures wouldnt work, the other one waffled a bit but said it was due to my orgins.

I joined this site to meet men outside of my narrow minded community and im shocked to find that men react like this.it could be that they were not interested in me full stop but the fact that they gave a reason makes me think that this is why.

should i stick to my own? or carry on?this has taken me aback.

Preference or racism, there is nothing you can do about it and it's good to immediately weed out people who will have a problem with you based on who you are so I won't even sweat it.

The funny thing is that men are more visual than anything, and majority of them will respond to physical attraction FIRST before they start to consider deeper compatibility issues.

If you want to broaden your dating horizons, you have to do it with no expectations. Just because you're open-minded doesn't mean other people will be.

it took me a lot of courage before i put my picture up, how can it be that white men commonly say that they are attracted to asian women yet on a dating site i was rejected on thsi alone?

it wasnt even a cheap site.stripped my confidence.

This isn't a dating site, per se.

owing to previous threads on inter-racial dating descending into frankly hostile levels, this thread is being halted before we ever get to that point.

Colour doesn't matter a fig here. Unless a person makes it an issue, to begin with.

Thanks for the comments.
