Another pet peeve of mine is when waitresses call me "hun."

I like it. Pour my coffee, call me sugar, I'm here for a reason.

omg I used to call people in College buddy all the time. I had no idea it could be condescending. I think I used it so much because I love the show Seinfeld and if you notice Kramer uses "Buddy" all the time.

No it's not offensive at all. I was amazed when reading this thread and all these little names people find offensive. :confused:

When this guy calls you buddy, just say, "hey my name is <insert name> not buddy!" He'll get the hint.

 

 

You guys put entirely too much into this. WWIU has the right idea. Most people using terms like this are trying to be friendly, not offensive. Simply say, "The name's <insert name>, by the way!"
