NOW and THEN Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 What is the oldest trick in the book about? The one where a guy buys a ring and gets in engaged but does not set a date.
LucreziaBorgia Posted October 26, 2008 Posted October 26, 2008 Its sort of like leasing a car, I guess. You get the car, and it costs you, but you aren't responsible for it for the rest of your days. There is an expiration date, so to speak. The name of the 'ring' trick is 'placation'. Giving your girl what she wants, at the most minimal emotional cost that you can get away with.
ate_the_paint Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 And then there's always the girl who accepts the ring with no intention of ever following through...is that one an old trick, too?
marlena Posted October 28, 2008 Posted October 28, 2008 Or a girl who accepts the ring and then gets knocked up!! Now THAT is the oldest trick in the book!
