I am interested in thoughts and personal experiences with parental alienation syndrome.

I am most interested in stories from parents whose ex alienated them from their kids and how they were able to overcome this - or what went wrong if they were not able to resolve it.

Also - any adults out there who were alienated from a parent during childhood?

I promised myself I wouldn't jump in on every new thread and be the first to post.... (me and my enthusiasm!) but actually, this is of interest to me....

May I therefore be so bold, before I decide if I want to contribute anything - why are you asking, and what do you intend to use the information for?

This could be - and has the potential to be - a highly sensitive subject.....so really, I'm asking for all those who might want to contribute.....

I am asking because I believe my situation fits the classic description per Gardner's book and am trying to work through how to restore my relationship with my kids. Yes, we are involved in family counseling and that has been quite helpful. I am looking to supplement that with first-hand accounts from those who have been through this.
