Jamespots Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 My wife has checked out of our marriage starting 1 1/2 years ago when I lost my job and remained unemployed due to an injury for 8 months. Since then we have been struggling financially and have been a paycheck away from being homeless. The eight months wiped out any cash we had in reserves. Starting over a month ago, my wife has been having numerous repairmen over to the house, one being a cable man. She has been acting very unusual starting about 4 months ago when I became suspicious of drug use. I could not find any evidence of this though. Though, I have been contacted several times a week over the phone for work orders where cable men are coming over and whatnot and I'm starting to think there is more to it than bad reception. This is a crazy realization but it appears she's having affairs with numerous blue collar men from the local cable company. She told me that I am crazy and paranoid and most of the time I think she's right. But I found a box of condoms and we haven't had sex for months. I didn't notice anything missing though, but it appears there is no other explanation for her behavior other than drug abuse and/or affairs.
Reggie Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I think you need to be patient and keep your eyes and ears open . Don't disclose your suspicions. If it is going on, she'll just take it underground and you will have a much more difficult time getting the truth. Go into stealth/sleuth mode. Look for clues, cell phone bills, reciepts, money missing, computer history. You'll think of other avenues to explore. Believe me, I know how tough this is. But, if you jump the gun, you may never know the truth.

Your wife is cheating on your but limiting her partners to employees of the local cable company? And she's meeting them in your home under the guise of service calls? Color me skeptical... Mr. Lucky
Owl Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Simple enough. Go down to radio shack and spend $30-$50 on a good voice activated digital recorder. You might get two. Make sure that they're the kind with an external microphone. Put one under your bed or behind a nightstand or something, but run the microphone up to where its hidden but has a clear shot at the bed. Do the same thing in any other room you suspect she might be "entertaining". They also make them so that you can attach them to an unused phone jack in your house, so that you can hear her phone conversations. In most states this won't be any kind of admissable evidence in court...but...you'll have your proof.

Did you ask her about the box of condoms? When you said nothing was missing did you mean from the box of condoms or the house? If you havent had sex in months, is it possible the condoms were a hint? Just trying to think outside the box but it sounds a little unusual that she would be having casual liasons with various repairmen unless she is living out some fantasy from a porn movie.... Are you HAVING cable TV problems? Now if you tell me you dont have a TV then you know you are on to something. Not making light but it sounds very far fetched and while fact is stranger than fiction..

I do think it is far fetched myself and only find suspicion in the fact that repairmen have been coming over about 2-4 times a week for almost a month. Now, I myself do not see anything wrong with the cable or reception, but my wife seems to find strange problems such as the wiring, bad reception, fuzziness, loud noises coming from the receiver box, and it goes on and on. No, I did not find any missing condoms and she is the one who has rejected my sexual advances for months. It is possible that the workmen supply the condoms, or that the cable company number altogether is some kind of a front for a male prostitution ring just in case someone notices suspicious cars or people- they may be dressed in uniform or bring commercial cars in a neighborhood. Or does she really have ongoing relationships with cable men and they service her while on the job??? As you can see, all kinds of strange explanations have entered my mind as I have been trying to make sense of it all. I think it's unheard of to have a cable problem going on for a month, or am I just crazy????? I think I will need to heed one of the poster's advice and purchase a covert camera to document what goes on in the household while I'm gone. If there is anything in any way unprofessional, I will not only make sure these men are fired, but start having my own indiscretions. As you can see with my problems, that marriage tends to be "for better", excluding the "for worse" part. My wife gave up on me after an injury and never will I trust a woman's intentions again.

There's another poster on this forum already who's been down that path. If you want to use her cheating to justify YOUR cheating...don't expect anyone to cheer you on. If you want to fix the marriage...there are tons of people here who can support you. If you want to divorce because she's cheated...same deal. If you want to use this as an excuse to play that game...not much anyone can do for you.

And I definitely don't think my wife deserves a faithful husband if she's been slutting around the 'hood. Not only has she abandoned me in a time of need, but to disrespect me in the worst way possible deserves hell imo.

A television reception problem should take one visit or two at the absolute most. You find condoms. She claims a reception problem all the time? I do not think you are wrong. Think about it. Do you really think the cable company would continue to send men over 2-4 times a week for a month without charge? Get the evidence because the chances are pretty good something is going on. She has not had sex with you in 6 months? My guess is that you suspicions are probably correct. Maybe you could have a friend call you or you leave and wait for the cable man to come to your home and wait a few minutes and then walk in on them.

She is doing a good job of keeping you in the dark..... Have a neighbor with a camera tape the men and get a recorder and phone records and hide a camera in the bed room and living room and room with main tv.... Truthfully I would have been kicked her to the curb. When I told my ex gf that she was using me as a fallback she quickly responded no I am not! fast forward a few months later boom I caught her. Your gut is right most of the time..... Do not doubt it I would just confront her like I know you are cheating on me and it is time for me to leave and I would be gone. She would be in sooooo much pain it would not even be funny....
