sedgwick Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Oh man, I had a ridiculously detailed getting-back-together dream last night. I hate how dreams can set you back. It really pisses me of. Two sort-of good things happened yesterday, however. The first is just bizarre. I got FOUR random myspace messages from guys telling me I was hot (with varying degrees of specificity.) People I didn't know, who just happened to find my profile. Of course I didn't write any of them back, but still, it was really weird. Lately I've been feeling so unattractive. It was just bizarre. It makes me feel arrogant even writing about it. The definitively really awesome thing was that my dance teacher, who is arguably the best choreographer in the city in the genre, praised a solo piece I'm doing in her show. She also told me she wanted me to improvise onstage with one of the members of her company, just the two of us. I had a bike wreck that kept me out of a group choreography, and she told me she really wished I could have been in that piece because she loved watching me dance so much!!!!! I then had another dancer come up to me after rehearsal to tell me she loved watching me, which was awesome because I love watching her. I'm really excited to do this performance this weekend, partly because I sewed/knitted my costume and can't wait to wear it. And last but not least, okay, this is just wild: one of my two favorite living authors is on a plane right now coming to get tattooed by my artist/best friend!! Long story short, I got in touch with her after I sold my book and over the last year we've become big internet friends. (She lives across the country.) So let me just say again that the woman whose book made me write mine is ON A F*CKING PLANE RIGHT NOW to come and hang with me and my best friend and spend two days getting tattooed. And I'm all bummed out because I had a dream about bassf*cker. Gahh. There is a voice in my head negating the importance of every single thing I just wrote and telling me that it doesn't really matter because it's not the fiddle and I'm not good enough for the man I love. Whew. Okay. Just had to vent all that. I think I need to go dance to David Bowie now.
Peter_pan Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 you seem like an awesome girl, dont let your ex bring you down , now go dance
frd150 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 And you said no one would be interested in you.%@*# all that. Those myspace people only saw half of what you have to offer. Think of all the guys you meet that see all that you have to offer. Like I said, its only a matter of time.Just sayin. So will you be getting a new tat with the author?
lofi_tokyo Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Definitely don't let one little dream ruin your day! It sounds like your life has a lot of awesome things going on! I love books and reading, and wow! If one of my favorite authors was coming down to visit me and a friend, I'd be the happiest girl alive! Thats great!!!
Author sedgwick Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 So will you be getting a new tat with the author? No, it's all her. She's getting a large piece in two consecutive days. She's a rockstar!!
lofi_tokyo Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 No, it's all her. She's getting a large piece in two consecutive days. She's a rockstar!! Sedgwick, I know you probably don't want to give out your personal identity, but would you mind at least hinting what genre of book you wrote? I'm an English Major, and an aspiring writer, and nothing would make me happier than to read your book, whatever it is. Its just so... awesome having a real author posting on these forums! Clearly I'm an English geek.
frd150 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 No, it's all her. She's getting a large piece in two consecutive days. She's a rockstar!! Ouch,in two days eh? Just there for inspiration and support. Ive had to do that a couple of times. Have fun and happy healing to your friend. Boy is that going to be a fun plane ride home.
Author sedgwick Posted October 24, 2008 Author Posted October 24, 2008 It's a memoir. I was an English major too.
