Are women offended by sexists remarks...if....

...they aren't directed at them? I'm talking in a joking fashion. This is amongst people I know as well...some are aquaintences. But we were all talking about doing a big downtown shindig...and I've seen my share of "eye-candy" in the city.

 

I said, laughing, "Yeah, Halloween is the only time of the year to come downtown and see the eye-candy!"

 

But I wonder if remarks like that get me in trouble. lol

That isn't sexist. Especially since so many women dress up in "slutty" costumes.

 

You have to be careful. Don't be a pig, but a little sexual innuendo or humor is fine. Practice more caution at work, however.

 

Your comment was pretty harmless. If a woman takes offense to that, she is probably too PC for you, and it's her problem, anyway. But again, you don't want to go dirty or crude...it's a fine line.

Are AFRICAN AMERICANS offended by RACIST remarks if they are not directed at them? I think yes.

 

As a male, am I offended by remarks that belittle men? Yes.

 

The question is...are the remarks you made sexist or simply crude and unnecessary?

I have a vagina and I was not offended.... you like looking at "hotties"... no biggie.

 

Now if you said - I like to go downtown and ogle women and call them stupid sluts because they are all crazy and need to be beaten barefoot and pregnant...... yeah that would piss me off.

 

and I don't care when black people call me "cracker" either. And they do.

I don't think that particular comment is offensive at all unless someone is SUPER sensitive!

 

Alot of people like to dress more seductively on halloween and those that do, do it knowing they will get that sort of attention so you are just stating the obvious
