Bells Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I was at an event, and apparently, the place is more known for their wines than beers...but they do sell beer. I am not much of a wine person, I mean, I have drank wine before, it's okay...and I'll do it again, but I just prefer beer. Well, this guy is talking to me, and he's drinking wine as well, and he notices me with a beer. He goes, "So you're not drinking wine?" and I say, "No, I'm not much into wine, more of a beer person." He goes, "Well, just an FYI, women like guys who drink wine." I think he implied it makes you appear more mature and sophisticated. lol I was like "Yeah, right 'lover boy'", I see the women just swarming you!" I said, "Hey, if she doesn't like the fact I am drinking a beer, that's her problem and she wouldn't be worth dating!" But, although I was wondering if the guy had any truth to his theory or not. M aybee he was giving me some kind of "Miss Manners" tips.
Cherry Blossom 35 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I could care less what the guys drinking. Do you honestly think that switching up your beverages will land you more women LOL?
Author Bells Posted October 23, 2008 Author Posted October 23, 2008 I could care less what the guys drinking. Do you honestly think that switching up your beverages will land you more women LOL? Hell no...that guy obviously did though. Apparently it makes you look more 'Mature, cultured and refined' I was in the "hoity toity" part of town anyways.
Adamagnet Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I've noticed that there are many women who won't drink beer or hard liquor but love wine, so your better off stockin' it up as the social lubricant of choice. Now it may be true that the wine aficianado believes that his tasting skills are an advantageous trait when it comes to dating, but I think that's due to a corellation effect. These people tend to be well traveled, cultured, and/or wealthy. Not to mention there's always the romantic feel of a wine tasting excursion...
2sure Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I dont drink usually drink any beer, but don't mind anything at all that a date might drink. But you might consider this: Different foods and drinks are served at different occasions right? We dress differently for various types of events too, right? As a woman, I like to know a man can handle himself in any social setting, is open minded enough to go from jeans and beers to suits and scotch. So, if I were at, say, a wine and food pairing - I wouldnt want a man to order beer. If I were at a football game - I'd want him to order a beer along with me.
prettybaby Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I'll admit that if I see one guy holding a glass of white wine (WHITE wine - because red causes bad breath and jacks up your teeth which is gross) and another guy holding a bottle of beer ... I'll be more likely to walk up to the wine guy. Why? Because beer guys are more often smokers than wine guys, and they're also more likely the type to watch sports on TV. Which are two things I hate. Of course I'm totally generalizing. But we all do that when first meeting a stranger
fral945 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 These people tend to be well traveled, cultured, and/or wealthy. And don't forget pretentious
Lovegod Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Women also like guys who can swallow Drano without gargling.
konfuzd Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 Girls who like guys who drink beer, usually like the ones who like football too, so you're just right outa luck. I think you are too set in categorizing girls into one big lump. You need to realize that we are all individuals, we all have our own tastes and preferences. You need to focus on what you like, what you want to share with a potential partner and advertise those things to individual girls who will be attracted to these traits.
Shygirl15 Posted October 23, 2008 Posted October 23, 2008 I like beer drinkers! Guys who drink wine appear as if they're trying too hard to look sophisticated. Not attractive.
Fraggle Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I said, "Hey, if she doesn't like the fact I am drinking a beer, that's her problem and she wouldn't be worth dating!" Amen. It seems pretty insecure to worry about what you are drinking and whether or not it will attract women.
Trialbyfire Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I hate beer. It tastes horrible. I would have a problem with a guy who only drinks beer. Also, if he only drinks Miller light or any of the other even worse beers, ick. There's a generalized mentality behind that and if enough is consumed, you can smell it on them. And yes, I'm being a snob. I like a man who knows his wine, not saying he has to be an afficiando. It's nice to try new wines that he recommends. Having said that if he doesn't like wine, that's okay too. Scotch, brandy and other kinds of hard liquor can be his poison of choice. Beer some of the time, okay.
carhill Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 Yeah, and what kind of woman does a guy attract drinking club soda?? Seriously, drink what you like, alcoholic or non-alcoholic. People of substance don't really care about what you drink. They're more interested in you.

Dark-N-Romantic Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I stick by my no-alcohol for me. While I don't mind if a woman I am with drinks, I just don't want to deal with her when she is all tipsy or drunk. I really hate the smell and taste of alcohol on a woman. It is just as bad a woman who smokes, I mean I can smell a walking ashtray a mile away. I remember getting joked with because I would not drink during certain Marine celebrations. Its a personal taste I take it and one should not have to fake it just to fit in or get what they want. DNR
Citizen Erased Posted October 24, 2008 Posted October 24, 2008 I'd take the beer drinker anyday. As long as they aren't drinking Fosters cos that $h!t is nasty.
